Re: HAWKS 408ci LSX Twin Turbo Convertible Formula Build w/ Pics

The engine bay and header/turbo placement is great... Very nice work..

The intercooler pipes and layout for the cold side could have been thought out a bit better... A lot could change and be better for room and over all air flow through the system.....

Love the color.. it'll be sharp!

Even the way they sectioned the rear framerail looks like how DSE does it. Even without seeing DSE in this thread I immediately thought how they look exactly like DSE components

Oh yeah, but that black '89 Formula 350 with the S/C LS in the COTM column set the guy back over $50,000. Too much for my pocket. But none the less it is one gorgeous 'bird. Would I do it if I could afford it, in a New York minute I would. Too much is only dictated by what you can and are willing to afford. Yep I'd love to give the guys my "Z" and a blank check and say do it. Oh well, I love this stuff, and Bruce what you and your guys and gals are doing is awesome. Keep bringing us this level of custom work and we will keep following you.

Is this rear end combonation going to be available through Hawks to narrow your suspension or is that just a one off deal?

It's actually been over a year since the OP last posted on this thread. I am thinking this may be a dead thread.

Not sure on the wheel width, but the tires are 335, so the wheel is likely 12.5", perhaps wider.
No, those are not the stock wheel tubs. Typically 285-295 is the widest tire in the factory tub. Also note: 1) how skinny the left frame rail is. 2) they are using coil overs in the stock shock location. 3) coil over springs are smaller diameter than factory springs. 4) A larger diameter springs nothing to sit on, 5) because the factory spring perch was removed along with the "outer frame rail" / layers of steel that normally run between the factory spring and tire, and supports the bumpstop.
