6.0 swap, need help! Hampton roads people!
hello all, its been a while but I have just completed (sorta) my 6.0 swap. I acquired a 6.0 lq9 complete drop out foooo freeee!!!! perks of working at a shop. anyways, my boss hooked me up with the motor we pulled out of a wrecked escalade. I purchased all the ls1 intakes, fuel rails, etc. and did all of my wiring harness thanks to pockets great thread!
now to the niddy griddy. Car fired RIGHT UP, then dies within seconds. did research everyone says VATS! so now does anyone recommend any one near the va beach or chesapeake area? I want this car on the road, its been about 4 years (got married, house, kid, yadda yadda yadda) so if any one can help I would appreciate it!

I thought the vats can only be bypassed if still using bcm, or else the computer would have to have it burned out for a swapped setup

Vats can only be bypassed with a module, if the PCM came from a vehicle using a key with a pellet in it. Unless you happened to use a ls1 Fbody PCM, this isnt an option. If you have the stock LQ9 PCM, you'll have to find somebody local with tuning software, or send it out to Have VATS, downstream O2 sensors, emissions, ect., removed from the PCM while you are at it.

i swapped the dbw harness and computer for a dbc harness and computer. whats weird is the person I bought it from said it came off a running rx7 swap. although the harness he sold me was botched from hell, there was wiring wing nuts and loose uncapped wires everywhere so I repinned it and cleaned up the harness.

So what PCM is it?
If its an LS1 PCM you can go to radioshack, spend like $20 or less, and build a bypass module in a few minutes if you can solder.
I built one just to get mine running, then ordered a pre-built unit from ebay. Its really small, and I wired a weatherpack connector to it, and put the other connector in the console. So I can unplug it and take it with me for added security.
Just in case you do have the PCM that this would work on, here is a thread I made on tech about building a module. It has some links in it and some extra info in the thread itself. I havent checked the links yet to make sure they're still alive...
