ls3 swap questions

I am preparing to do ls3/4l80e swap to 86 iroc. I read that corvette oil doesn't fit stock k member. can I use a ls1 pan? my other question is did any try using part# 19155067 - GMPP Accessory Drive System With A/C - Fits LS2, LS3 & LS7 Engines in iroc? I heard some a/c pumps/k member might need modifying.

Re: ls3 swap questions

Read the sticky at the top of the forum

You want the fbody pan with the stock k-member. None of the LSx low mount AC compressors fit the stock k-member. A notch will fit the fbody compressor. Several aftermarket brackets will mount the stock 3rd gen or sander compressor in the stock 3rd gen location

Fbody accessories fit the best, but c5/c6 accessories also fit. The Ac compressor is a bit of a trick to fit on the corvette systems

I doing the swap at a navy hobby shop. they don't allow welding. I guess I have to get an spohn k member for the swap.

Re: ls3 swap questions

I wouldn't recommend doing a swap in the hobby shop. Takes too long, even when you have everything ready before turning the first wrench

Re: ls3 swap questions

I also would not recommend the Spohn K-member for this swap due to the fitament issues. Go with a BMR. Do a search to find out more.
