LS1 dash and wiring with swap? or No?

Sorry for the questions guys but I'm really trying to decide how to tackle this monster of a project. As you may know I recently bought a 98 Z-28 to use as my donor car. Well I've acquired some of the swap parts I need, mainly the mounts, notch plate and a few other things. But I'm considering yanking my stock dash out and installing the 98 dash and wiring... I know someone done this, can't remember who... but thinking about it seems like I could use the LS1 engine harness and body harness... that way I could have automatic headlights and everything.

How big of a PITA is doing this and would it be worth it?

Shroom did it a long time ago and documented it well

There's a lot of little things that need to be done to make it work and look right

The wiring aspect is the easiest of any conversion. Basically use every wire from the 4th gen. Switch the exterior lights around and you're done

Re: LS1 dash and wiring with swap? or No?

Seems like a straightforward swap. Since I have the whole car I'm going this route, even having to fab a thing or two it seems worthwhile. It'll be nice having the newer interior with auto headlights and everything. Not to mention cup holders with the LS console.

Thinking off the top of my head the only wiring I'll have to mess with will be the body harness correct? Which is mainly the headlights and taillights. Should be easy enough... I'm going to see if I can find the write up shroom did. Hopefully its still on here. Thanks pocket
