I'm swapping in my LSX within the next few months and I want to see engine bay pics!
This will help people like me see what goes where, how's stuff suppose to look, and what engine parts such as covers, colors, and so on looks good! Plus, who doesn't like seeing a LSX thirdgen engine bay? So whether its a stock swap or not, post some pics.
Also post any extra info about your parts/swaps that you would like to.
Thanks!

We have a sticky with hundreds (perhaps thousands) of pictures.
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/ltx-...ltx-swaps.html
Why do you need to start a new thread asking for pics???

Thanks for all the pictures.
five7kid, I was really hoping no one would question the thread.
Since you asked, I'll answer.
The sticky has well over 25 different threads with LSX swaps. Thats great. However many threads are well over 9 pages long. So just for argument's sake lets use the following numbers.
25 threads times 9 pages equals 225 total pages.
So lets say it takes 60 seconds to scroll through each page.
It will take one roughly 3 hours and 40 minutes to view all the pages. Then if you factor in navigating from each thread back to the sticky, plus loading, etc, it can be very time consuming. Plus we all know most pictures in older threads are no longer working.
So having a thread that has strictly pictures of LSX swaps will be more efficient. It might just be a good idea for a sticky. Especially if we keep the thread clean of small talk/clutter.
On another note I've never seen rickyzZ28's setup. His build is not in the sticky. Yet he has nearly EXACTLY what I had in mind for my swap almost to the T.... Filled fender well holes, LSX, very similar body color, STB, and strut tower mounts.
So I thought it was a great idea, and I'm sure many others do. I see your point, yet there is an easier way.

Might have been there, dark green outside (multicolored), gray primered RAII hood, silver Y2K wheels
The setup has left alot of people scratching their heads with not much info to go on, alot of trails had to be blazed. Somehow the owner still managed to pull gobs and gobs of power out of it. Each time something broke or was too small limiting how far it could go. Id hoped it'd be finished around the time yours was completed, but thats life. Im curious to see how my 14psi compares to your 14psi. 3.0L on a mild 6.0 vs 2.3L on a hot 5.7

i agree with buggy. i wish people would JUST post pics and a small description. once you get a few posts in, the thread was hijacked and theres always 2 people talking about something completely different. meanwhile in a thread asking for pics, theres only a few pics with tons of posts.

I don't like clutter in picture threads, but I do learn alot from the "clutter" most of the time. So I dont think its really a problem, just when there's more small talk posts then actual picture posts, like what Gecz28 was saying.
So to keep it at a minimal, when you post pictures, go ahead and post a nice/detailed short description, and lets PM the person that posts the pics if we have specific questions or side conversations. Does that sound fair?
Now its time for more pics, as we've got a nice gap between the last picture and the next.
So my favorite bay. Not sure whose it is tho, I found it in a google search a while back.

Some nice swaps in here. Here's a crappy iPhone pic of mine since my Memory Card from my Camera wants to act up, It's a little dirty since it needs to be cleaned a little better after the radiator blew up all over it a couple months back.
It's an 89 Roc, 5.3L, Ported Heads, LS6 Cam, LS6 Intake, LS6 PCV, 3500 Stall, 3.42 Gears

I assume you are talking about the block & heads. If so, I actually painted them with high temp engine paint to help prevent oxidation (after chemically cleaning everything real good of course). There is more information about it in my build thread if you are interested. See my signature below for a link.Originally Posted by Buggy Disaster

Messy work in progress.
Rebuilt 6.0L LQ9, cammed 450hp, hawks headers, T56 Magnum and dual disc clutch.

Keep em coming guys.
Here is my ls1 in progress.
I painted the intake the color of the body. Now it needs to be clear coated, sanded and polished to get a deep shine.
The carbon fiber valve covers should tone everything down and look great in the bay.

Ehh dont mind the overspray on the hose. Its dry rotted and will be replaced.

My "Bone stock" comment was temporary, the photo was from last summer. As of now the motor is out getting ported heads a cam, timing chain and a windage tray in the pan.

I like the bone stock look. Meaning the engine looks like it could have always been in there, installed there by GM, thats what I was referring too mainly, its a real clean tight swap you got there.

Here is mine from years back; the car is presently back under the knife again. I am getting rid of the FRCs but have not sorted out how I am going to run the heater core lines without the FRCs to cover them up. I cannot recall if the heater core hard line fits with the swap. Anyone have a picture of the hard line installed with the swap?

Yeah, it was just a progress picture. The harness has already been taken care of. But thanks for the link

Thanks for the picture dprest. After looking at it, I'm pretty sure it was the SS longtubes that didn't fit.
