LS1 Swap and State Emission
I have no issue with private inspection station center and their help. My personal concern is after spending thousands, I want a car that passes state emission at state emission center for a daily drive.
All those did the swap, how many had gone through a full state emission inspection at a State Emission Center? Any one from New Jersey that did the swap and went to State Emission Center.
Thanks.

Re: LS1 Swap and State Emission
I haven't yet in NJ, but I doubt it will be a problem. They only do a tail pipe check at idle and look for the cat under the car. Outside of that they don't check because the car is too old.
Re: LS1 Swap and State Emission
AZ does a tailpipe test based on the year of the car. So if it sniffs as clean as a factory car from the same year you pass. Only other checks are 1) did the SES light come on and off like stock before the engine started and 2) gas tank pressure test of the cap, tank, and lines. They clamp the vapor line at the charcoal canister and pressurize the tank while checking the cap for pressure. If it holds it passes.
They won't even look for emissions equipment unless it fails the sniffer.
