no, driveshafts should be the same length. same shaft is used for both transmissions.
i wish i would have left mine an automatic!

same drive shaft , there either steel or aluminum
been thinking about this alot too steetdemon and understand what you feel i drive my camaro more like a daily driver than a sunday short drive
IMO
for a crusier or weekend car or daily driver i would prefer a auto just more enjoyable to drive and relaxing especially if you have family and or wife like i do, and when its stalled and has shift kit etc its actually really fun also kinda best of both worlds even tho its not quite the same connection with car as a manual but you focus more on driving more , just step on gas and go , burnouts, donuts , drag etc
where as a manual is more fun and better connection and sportier feel of car but can get old quick especially the more you drive and if it involves city or traffic, or stop sign / stoplight galore and a fun day can disappear in thin air once theres no open roads etc lol and to me on a family outing is also just not as relaxing and rewarding as a auto is
in a perfect world with open roads and tracks or racing, manuals would be ideal but to me in congested city like mines just not much fun
i been tossing the idea of switching back to manual in my lsx swap but more i think about it the more i would prefer just buying a seperate manual car ie 240sx or maybe a 4th gen SS/Z28 etc for a fun car to drive and
" its even more fun when its a little beater car you dont care about getting ding up etc"
where as i would be more cautious if i was driving my iroc , unless i was just making it into a beater fun car
this is my opinion and its purly not performance based either as manual on autocross and or track is number one choice and then with drag autos are more consitant and usally faster ,unless guy can shift like a animal lol
also to make a durable 6 speed car you will have to upgrade your rear to 8.8,s60 or 9" etc as having fun with 6 speed and 10 bolt is like a ticking bomb 10 bolt will faill sooner or later

True been seeing auto lsx swaps in thirdgen locally going for less than 8k where as t56 been seeing over 10k +
Also if t56 decides to breaks then expect to pay alot more for hard parts
