305 to LS1 5.3- Want to carb the 5.3

So I'm looking to swap my 305 with a 5.3 vortec. I want to make to new motor carbourated. I know about the intakes to convert the injection to carb. But how do I change it to be run by a distributor to eliminate the electronics of the coils?

Gm performance used to sell the kit to use a ford distributor. You need to replace the whole front cover set up iirc. Easier and cheaper to just run the msd box to run the coils in my opinion.

Easier to run EFI in my opinion.

Oh, and better, too.

Why do you want to run a carb??
If it's the wiring, it's not that difficult. If it's the fuel system, it's not that difficult.

Keep it EFI, and you get modern reliability and performance... Need to change something just hook up a computer.

I looked into a similar idea for my 69 camaro. If I LS that it will be carbed to look period correct and i'll get faux valve covers to hide the coils. I'd use an ignition controller instead of going to a distributor.

Would ultimately like to complete that build with a FAST EFI carb but $2k is a lot of money.
