Motor mount question
I'm putting a 95 LT1 into an 83 Camaro. I noticed there is a slight difference between the towers that attach to the block. Which one goes on the driver's side and which one goes on the pass side? The 2 motor mount towers have different part #s on them. ????????????

Re: Motor mount question
Well guys, thank goodness I took pictures of everything as I took it apart. There are slight differences between the left and right side motor mount towers. The only thing I can guess is that during the assembly line, it made it easier to install the engine to the K-member.
Re: Motor mount question
Just use the old SBC clamshells. LT1s had one identical to the old SBC and one that was 1/2" or so taller, so the engine would sit crooked in a 3rd gen bay. I posted a pic comparing them a few years ago

Re: Motor mount question
Thanks pocket, The towers coming from the Camaro were cleaner anyway, but not that different from the Caprice's towers.
