LS1 Carb Question
Ok before everyone chimes in about running EFI instead of a carb I get it but I already have a 650 holley on my 350 now and the block is heading south. My friend is selling me his MSD system and RPM performer intake mainfold for $200. The long block i am buying is completely rebuilt but does not have the intake/fuel rails/wiring harness so it just makes sense to do the carb.
My only question is this.....will this ls1/carb setup clear my factory hood??

Re: LS1 Carb Question
I looked into that a while a back, and never got a 100% straight answer. If I remember correctly, one of the LS/carb manifolds is a little bit lower than the other. I wish I could remember which was which. but even then, I'm not sure it cleared 100% with no mods. Definitely need a drop base air cleaner. A lot of guys have no problems running a cowl, so that's what most do. But for me, the car has to appear stock from the outside. That's just my thing. ......so I kinda gave up on it honestly.
...there was a lot of discussion about the different manifolds over on LS1tech. They've got a dedicated carbed LS1 section.
Good luck, lemme know what you find out.

Re: LS1 Carb Question
Took a while to get back to this post but I could not get the carb to fit with the original hood so i went fuel injection.
