They forgot the LS2, probably because it always loses to the LS6 despite the TB sizes, and worse, they didn't realize the TBSS intake is the exact same one as ALL '07-up trucks came with. The Edelbrock Performer RPM carb-style surprised me with it's lack of top-end, and the FAST LSXR would be best if the price was realistic, maybe $300-ish. I guess I'll be using the '07-up truck intake on all my future LSx builds. I'd seen threads on PerformanceTrucks about how it was a good improvement over the '99-'06 LM7/LR4/LQ version, but noone ever showed the difference below about 3500 RPM before.

Re: Hot Rod LS intake comparo

Any idea if that intake will fit under a stock hood? Looks like crap, but with a 90mm throttle body it looks like it should do about the same as a FAST 92mm with more torque.

I'm really tempted by this... I'm about to start working on part throttle tuning and it would be nice to not redo it in a few years when I can afford a FAST setup.

Re: Hot Rod LS intake comparo

I managed to fit the '99-'06 truck intake under my IROC-Z hood.

Oh, and I think cosmic forgot to post the link...
http://www.hotrod.com/features/1507-...ifolds-tested/

I've got a feeling it will work for a third gen camaro, but probably not fitting on a firebird. It looks like it's about an inch shorter than the older style truck manifolds.
