Carbed LSX 454

So I think I want to put an LSX 454 long block with Holley tunnel ram and twin Holley 450 cfm carbs on top into my 85 Camaro at some point in the future. The plan is to build the car up with a carbed 408 sbc to a 427 sbc then do the LS swap to the carbed 454. I know my Holley black fuel pump will meet the needs of both applications as will my cooling system. So I'm also building the car so it's pretty much a direct swap into the ready car. So all I need is an MSD or other electronic ignition box to keep timing dead on. Engine mounts. Headers. Correct torque converter and flywheel for LSX 454 to TH400 (full manual valve body without passing gear kickdown or vacuum and maybe a transbrake.) I might also go with one of the MSD boxes that has 8 plug leads coming off it instead of coil packs. Anything else anyone see I should plan for in the future.

Standing on the outside looking in, I have to say that 3-step process sounds like a bizarre plan.

I plan to go to the track and let the car make some of its own money and have other vehicles into which I can put each previous engine. I have so many small block Chevys around that I can use my old parts in or on as well. My current stock 2.02/1.60 ported heads will ultimately go on a truck with the Torker II intake and vacuum secondary Holley 750. That motor is a stock bore 400 with a crane fireball 2 cam and Harland Sharp 1.5 full roller rockers and 1.94/1.60 valves. I'll swap my Howards rockers over to my new heads and swap my heads over to the 400 using its Harland Sharps rockers and accessories. So yeah I've got too many sbc to play with if that's possible, haha. I want to try an LS build and I want to do it big with around 700 NA horsepower. The beauty is it'll pretty much be a direct swap motor when the time comes.

Re: Carbed LSX 454

So does anyone have a part # for the ignition harness for an LS motor? I'm actually getting into how much to budget for this build so I can start piecing it together again.
