I finally decided to pull my rusty, old, underpowered 305 tbi out of my 92 RS. I settled on the LS3 connect and cruise package from Chevy Performance. I wanted to stick with an EFI and I think that the LS3 offered the best bang for the buck as far as a new engine goes. I decided to go with the 430hp naturally aspirated LS3. I will probably add some type of forced induction system but thats a long way down the road for now.

This is my first engine swap so I am excited to see how it goes. I will be selling most of the engine parts as I get further along so if anyone is interested, just check the classifieds. Heres where I'm at so far.

I already upgraded pretty much all of the suspension components. I upgraded the factory A-arms to the Spohn tubular arms and converted it to a coil over set-up. I also replaced both sway bars and I am going to replace the rear control arms with the Spohn ones when I install the new rear end. For the rear, I decided to go with the Mosser 12 bolt with a 3.75 ratio.

I also installed the Detroit Speed subframe connectors and I am very happy with them. They make the car 100 times easier to jack up and they make great resting spots for the jack stands. The subframe connectors also replace the factory seatbelt bracket and allow for easy installation of a racing harness. If you are planning on installing subframe connectors, I would highly recommend going with the DSE ones. The install was pretty invasive but was totally worth it.

Re: My LS3 Swap
Some more progress on the LS3 swap.

I got the old POS 305 TBI out. It was in pretty rough shape. Luckily I didn't get snagged up on any wires or hoses when I was pulling out the engine and trans. Always check over and over before you pull the motor. Makes a heck of a difference.

Forgot to drain the transmission fluid though. Very messy.

You'll like the smooth powerful acceleration of the Ls3.Almost doesn't feel like 430 HP sometimes...almost!

Not surprised! There's at least one more on this forum that seems to never have finished their erod project, unfortunately.
