Ls swap wiring
Ls swap wiring
I am swapping my engine in my Camaro(89rs 2.8v6 auto) in favor of a turbo 4.8 build. I started to modify my engine harness after reading pockets post on this forum. My question is what do I have to do with the c207 connector (as I will be running a msd 6010 box and megasquirt 1 instead of a stock lsx pcm). I believe it has to be kept for park/neutral switch and speedo correct? Thank you!

Thank you for the response. I think it is the black and white wire that is the the ground. Should I just send it to the negative terminal of the battery or ground it on the body?know anything about what to do with the other wires?

Depends what features you want to keep. About half the pins in C207 are power sources from the fuse box. All I can do is tell you what I found with my car. It was difficult to get accurate pinouts for my vehicle so I ended up testing it out myself with multimeter.
* Pin "C" is the ground terminal for the Service Engine Soon light in the dash. You can use it for whatever you want, all you need to do is ground the wire and the light will turn on. I have Holley HP EFI and there is no MIL lamp capability, so I used the light bulb to turn on the alternator and as a warning light if the alternator quits charging. I wrote a how-to here, https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/ltx-...ml#post5965540
* Pin "J" is a datalink wire. I didn't use it but it might go back to the OBD connector under steering wheel. Basically, it is wire already laid in the harness so remember it is there in case you ever have a use for it.
* Pin "K" is the speed signal input to the VSS buffer box. And Pin "M" is the VSS buffer ground wire. It is also ground for datalink and some other things too, if my memory serves me.
* Pin "L" is for VATS. I didn't use it but I think it goes to the VATS box. Again, free wire already laid in the harness.

Re: Ls swap wiring
Check the C207 pinout for your particular year
For 85-89's the cluster main ground goes through the C207. 90-92 is went through the C100
Overall, the C100 is filled with a few gauge pins and several fuse points. If you dont want an extra fuseblock in the engine bay, Id reuse the stock fuse pins here
