Updates..upgrades..downgrades Turbo lq4 woes

So ive had my trial and errors lately with the turdgen in hopes of making it reliable..stop better and handle more power in the drivetrain.Nothing goes as planned but I did get my trans rebuilt..had headaches with clutch disengament after the rebuild which seemed fixed now.By recommendation from Monster clutch I going to be installing a stock 4thgen clutch master cylinder for a lighter and smoother clutch leg life.Plus the tick master is overkill for the twin disc. My drive home from the trans shop had me pissed as the car suddenly would sputter all the time while trying to make boost.Took alot of cursing..swapping coils..put i new plugs and wires,o2 sensors..to find out it took my tuner 5 seconds to say the msd 2 step is common to cause it and remove it.Sure enough he was right and the car was back to beast mode..the new plugs and wires were probably a good idea anyway for whats next.

Since i want to squeeze some more power safely on higher boost. My bonus money from work all went towards an aem progressive water/meth kit. This will alow me to run 16-18psi with some more peace of mind for the stock gen 3 rods/pistons to keep cool.

Next weekend is a armdrop race event and I would like to run some cars all out..namely the gloating hellcat owners lol.I dont just want to win..but shame them. And hopefully not break anything either. With that said im going over the car as best i can for the long drive and learn about meth and how much I will need.

Picking up the car from the trans shop

Watching some dyno runs and fixing my car

Re: Updates..upgrades..downgrades Turbo lq4 woes

Yesterday I was able to install the aem meth kit. I had some trail and error with connecting the wrong signal wire to the controller for the map sensor and I had too large of a nozzle which made the car react rather hard when the kit activated. But all in all the kit is super easy to assemble.

Ill get more footage of the car underboost once i change my collasped upper rad hose. But when it comes on..its rather noticeable increase in power.

Re: Updates..upgrades..downgrades Turbo lq4 woes

Yea mine was great for 2yrs. Never got to really use it at the track. Was hoping I'd get to dial that in this weekend. Back to basics of foot control lol.

5.7 and a billet 7875 should be a very snappy combo. I'm still trying to adjust to the power my car has when full tilt. Feels like the front end just wants to take flight lol

Gosh, you're putting down some real power! So do those guys at LS1tech.com still say you're slow? LOL!

Thanks..and to think my tuner said to push it further as it wasnt struggling at 14psi and my meth kit is hardly being used.I choose not to turn it up past 15psi.i want the thing to live awhile and get used to the car at this level. No need to chase dyno queen numbers.Time to make the rest of it work in harmony at the track!
