Stock shifter cable and bracket on a 4L60E

I am in the process of putting a ls1/4L60e in my 88 Irocz and have run into an issue. It had the 350/700r4.
I can not get the bracket that bolts onto the trans to actually bolt on. It seems i do not have enough clearance between the back side of the bolt and the trans for the bracket to fit. You can see where the screw hits it in the picture.

Is there something i am missing, any ideas would be appreciated.

I'd take a grinder to it, but a file would work.

I forgot about this post.
So after i looked at it all again i realized i was trying to mount the bracket in the wrong location. It gets mounted on the bottom of the Trans pan.
