oil filter

After I got my 5.3L engine installed, I noticed an oil leak. I traced the leak to the oil filter, so I replaced the filter a few days ago. Now, the new filter is leaking. I bought a filter for a 2010 Colorado Avalanche, since that's where the engine originated. I just remembered, though, that I'm using an oil pan from an LS1 engine. Whoops! So, is this the reason oil is leaking? I'm hoping this will be a quick fix.

Re: oil filter

The f-body pan uses a different thread on the filter than the Later GenIV motors. Just buy an F-body filter.

F-Body LS1 = PF46 (3/16" x 16)
Gen IV = PF1218 or PF454 (22mm x 1.5)
