Catted y-pipe options
I have decided to jump back into a 3rd gen. I want to finally make my dream a reality and swap in a LS and 4L60. Looks like not much has changed in the last couple years and Hawks or chinese Ebay headers are the only options. Am I right?
I'm a little older and now know that value of doing things right the first time so I think I'll be buying the SW/Hawks headers. Do they offer a Y-pipe with high flow cats? Does any body?
Thanks

Re: Catted y-pipe options
Hooker's blackheart series of LS exhaust swaps are a really nice addition to the game. There is a higher cost of entry but their headers are deemed to be a better fit when used with their supporting motor mounts and trans cross member. I haven't installed mine yet but they are dripping with quality. Very nice pieces. They sell a complete true dual system as well as an off road y-pipe. You could easily have a shop splice in some cats. Most folks end up fabricating a y-pipe that includes cats. There are too many transmission, cross member, and motor mount options for the aftermarket to make a one size fits all product. Depending on your power goals, a traditional style exhaust, post headers, may not suffice.
