ls1 fbody dipstick length?
ls1 fbody dipstick length?
I ordered a "fbody ls1" dipstick and the part number stamped on it is 12580830. I cant get that part number to cross reference at all.
What is the length of a ls1 stick and length to hash marks?

Where did you buy it from? That might be the subassembly number. The stick is 12551581 and the tube is 12551577.

Re: ls1 fbody dipstick length?
At least with GM Parts...
Numbers found on the Part are NOT normally that Part's "Part-Number".
Wow, I had to practice saying that sentence a few times, before I could say the ending correctly.
Anyway, back to Numbers...
Example being the Numbers found cast on a LSx Cylinder-Head...
They make up a "Casting-Number", but is NOT the Part-Number.
...and by "Part-Number", I mean the Number that designates a corresponding Part for Order or Purchase.
On the GM Back-End, these Numbers have an entirely different and more complicated life of their-own.
