4L80e with Speed Engineering headers

anyone here have a swap with a 4L80e, or maybe even a 4L60e/700r4 and speed engineering headers?

is the driver's side header that close to the shift lever/linkage? i already swapped the shaft to the short version to pull the linkage as close to the transmission as possible and its still no where close to even letting the rest of the exhaust pass by.

Re: 4L80e with Speed Engineering headers

Before I was turbo I battled this.
Had to flip the lever so it tucked close to trans, then grind the nub flat, drill it out and tap the drilled hole. A shifter cable for a stock 1987 firebird(mine) has a threaded end.
Thread the cable end in from the transmission side of the shift shaft.
All that gave me some extra clearance.

Youll also have to weld up your own shift cable bracket that bolts to the trans.
Set the shifter to neutral in the car.
Set transmission shift shaft to neutral.
hook up your linkage, now cut and weld your bracket while in this position.
Neutral is the middle of the throw for the shifter to park and gear 1
