my first Camaro!!!

hi guys, just wanted to show off my very first Camaro. just picked it up a week ago. its an 89' that has a freshly stroked 350 with a freshly rebuilt 4-speed manual.
the owner and i traded vehicles, because i have been looking for 82-92 thirdgen Camaro's for some time now. she needs some TLC and i am in love with her!!!
this has made the wife mad, but she will get over it (LOL)!!! take a look and tell me what you think. thanks for the advice and support.

Re: my first Camaro!!!

yeah, the paint looks good 20 ft away, but she has some minor scratches and a couple that waxing isn't gonna fix. i have been looking for a project Camaro for some time, ended up trading one project for one that i really love. the guy i got her from just had engine and tranny rebuilt about 2 months ago, the engine hasn't even been fired yet. they took her from MPI to Carb, so the wire harness is a little thrown together. they really did a backyard job on her in some of the wiring places.

on the outside the body is close to being perfect, no accidents or body work. there is minimum rust underneath, got some places that i can clean up, no big deal. has new headers with new exhaust system all the way through. when i picked her up he had all kind of parts inside, the interior trim has been painted yellow just like the stripes, plus the seat covers are black/yellow. the interior is missing the headliner, radio, and one of the dash pieces. it's some switch cover on the right hand side of the steering wheel. has new carpet and door covers, the doors have not slack in them, you close them and you get that nice sound of a tight weather proof door sound.

the center console where you shift gears is missing a top section where i assume some kind of switches are mounted to it. the car is missing it's air-condtioning unit. the hood and hatch need new pistons and the front windshield needs to be replaced. the only bad rust spot it where the battery is mounted, that's gonna take some work to fix that. some pretty nasty rust there.

other than that, i am gonna take my time and do her right, oh bye the way the rims will have to go. later on i want to go with the stock rims or get the chrome replicas, not sure yet. would love to here opinions. thanks guys.

Re: my first Camaro!!!

the only thing that is a mystery right now is the engine. the owner said it was built for racing , said the compression was 11:6 and that the crank, cam, pistons, were built to match each other and the tranny, but could not tell me or show me what was done internally. i ran the numbers and it's a 75' 350, and the heads are 86-88 1.94/1.50. don't know if any head work was done to them. has a edelbrock carb and holley street dominator intake. i am looking for a high torque starter so i can fire her up.
