some girl in a honda civic rear ended me at like 40 mph and bent my frame. so therefore its totaled. i was just wondering what the value of my 1984 z28 305 manuel camaro is gonna be. can anyone help me out with finding the value of it.

We dont have frames on our cars, they are sub frames, & you can have it fixed.

 

Don't say its totalled unless the insurarnce man says it is. IF that b8tch really tweaked the rear sub frame then yeah, it may be worth trying to part it out or sell the whole car as is. Check kellys blue book (kbb.com) like previously said and see which value is greater.

I can speak from experience that I had an 84 that had 2 front end accidents that should have totalled it but I got them fixed. I NEVER knew the difference performance wise, looks, steering, etc. Worked fine for me.

sorry to hear that. Man, I don't imagine you're going to get anything more than 2000 bux, if that. I'm sorry to say it but the value of an 84 thats damaged as bad as you describe (pictures would REALLY help) isn't going to draw buyers to it.

 

The NADA has a classic auto guide that will be very helpful for you. It has a numbered rating system that allows you to determine the condition off specific items.

I just think that everyone has red and black and its not that common. I rather keep it that way. I dont want it to have the same color as like 80% of all thirdgens.

I hope you had classic car insurance , this is what i have on mine and it was appraised at 20k so if it gets totaled out then they will pay 20k . My insurance runs 468.00 for 6 months then i put fire and theft on it. Soory to hear about the rice burner hitting you. Good luck

 

I have to side with the low amount. I bought an 89 V6 that just needed some paint love for 1100 and an 87 IROC perfect with no engine for 500 bux.

FWIW, haggerties and others will insure your car for an agreed amount. My buddy has his inusred for 20k also and pays a tad less than 500 for 1/2 year.

 

Just back halve the car & tub it, anything is fixable, it all depends on how much the car means to you.

 

Comes down to interest, time, and money.

 

Personally, I would get another car. Knowing how flexable these cars are just in driving, I would never want one after any serious accident.

Even if they pull it (the subframes) back on a frame machine, other parts of the car will just never be the same... depending on the tech that pulls it, and the alignment job they do, they could make it drive normal again, however certain things like t-tops leaking and noise, doors shutting, the infamous "stress cracks" all that will still be affected.

Good luck, hopefully they can either do a real good job fixing it, or you can find another nice thirdgen!

Hey Rva, do you know the paint code of the car, my code is long gone from the car so I dont know what it is. It would be really helpful.

 

I'd be pretty upset if they gave me the KBB value of my car. Its simply not that accurate on older cars. I'd look at the price of cars in your area that are similar to yours, and hope for a similar price.

alright guys good news, i took it too a body shop today and they said its not totaled and that there gonna fix it. the subtotal is 967$ but im sure its gonna be more then that, i also ask the guy if he can just say they couldnt blend the color where it peeled off and just paint my whole car....and he said yea sure not too mention the guy whose the manager is the dad of my brothers girlfreind
