Car: 1991 Camaro rs
Engine: 305 TBI
Transmission: WCT5 Rebuilt by Astro
Axle/Gears: Borg Warner posi disc 3.27
Need Cam Info
What performance gains could i expect from installing the high performance 245 hp factory cam in my tbi equiped '91' 305? potential problems? would i need to change the 'chip' or entire computer? fuel system?

FYI...The 350 TPI cam is the same as the 305 TPI (manual) cam.
Why not get an LT1 cam - $40.00
Replace the springs (to ZZ4 specs), retainers and locks...you can get them from GMpartsdirect.com - about $70.00 for everything.
You would need a new chip or retune.
Shold be good for an extra 25-30 hp or so.

as i have TBI not TPI and the 305 170 horse set-up that comes with it, i was more or less questioning the additional performance if any that might be gained from the HO cam and lifter swap. not looking to change the TBI at this time?

Go to the article section off the main page and look up the "Ultimate TBI mods".
A LT1, 350 TPI cam will still work as a good swap along with a cat back (flowmaster), convert to dual cats, headers, gears (3.42),and upgrade the injectors and/or throttle body (Holley 670 cfm) and intake (Edelbrock).
