My '91 Z, lowered and now with LS1 brakes
It's been a while since I've updated this site on my car. I've done quite a few things over the last year. Two of the bigger mods I've done are lowering the car with Hotchkis springs and switching out the old cup coaster front brakes for LS1 brakes. (I think most of you already knew I had an LS1 10bolt with the rear discs...)
Here she is, the pictures aren't the greatest, but it gives you an idea.

Man that's a sweet looking ride you got there.Hope I can get my 88 vert to that condition by next summer.
On your ground effects I know thats the factory style for your year but I like them better than the previous style like I have.I have a set like yours.Do verts mount different or did they change mounting styles somewhere? The ones I have won't come close to mounting up.

I love the way that looks. Those springs give your car the perfect stance. Do you have any rubbing problems?

And honestly the only rubbing I ever notice are at full lock when I am doing a u-turn in my neighborhood. I've never had any problems other than that, and the small amount of rubbing I do experience isn't enough to bother me. I'm never going more than 5 or 10mph when it rubs.

Looks really nice Nick! The brakes and drop really compliment the 17" wheels well... gives it more additude!

I've been keeping my eyes out on a totalled LS1 car to strip the drivetrain from, but I think it's going to be a 2 or 3 year time frame project. Supreme Member

Re: My '91 Z, lowered and now with LS1 brakes
Quick question on the rearend, was it an easy swap, cause I just picked one up for free with pbr calipers, but getting alot of other stuff to finish the car, corvette front brakes & so on.

Yes it's really simple with 2 extra hands. You unbolt the driveshaft, torque arm, shocks, and lower control arms and it just comes out like butter. Put jackstands under the car and lower the rear end out with a jack.

Re: My '91 Z, lowered and now with LS1 brakes
Regarding the brake swap? Yes, except for the hubs. A friend of mine made the hubs out of the 3rd gen rotors for me for free basically (well I paid for his meal at a club meeting). Other than that, I did everything myself.

Re: My '91 Z, lowered and now with LS1 brakes
I'll just paste the link for my tech article on Z28.com for you. I took quite a few pictures of the process and tried my hardest to explain everything to the best of my ability. I am not positive how a 4th gen hub set will work on 3rd gen spindles. That might be a question to ask Ed Miller. However I will add that I do not recommend paying extra money to buy modified spindles. It is a simple modification that you can do yourself with a ban saw and a file.

Low n' slow...for now...
Thank you. Yep I still have the back seats in it, the reason I keep them folded down most of the time is with the glass rear window you have to fold the seats down to get the top up and down, otherwise you can potentially bust out the glass which would be $400 down the poop shoot.

Three weeks?!? I love my Trailblazer, but I still at least drive the Camaro once a week (usually more, unless it's raining)!
