My 1992 Camaro RS

My baby... it's now stored for the winter so it doesn't have to be in salt or snow. I just bought it from Orlando, Florida (no rust... anywhere!)... 124,000 miles, T-tops, Auto, mostly meticulous, there's a chip in the front spoiler that I will be replacing next year. Please comment!

Re: My 1992 Camaro RS

Lol. What is it with Aaron's and Camaro's? It seems like a lot of the 91-92 Camaro RS's were loaded. The only thing my car doesn't have is leather, or the fog lights, but I think those were Z28 exclusive options, and I liked the slotted grill. F41 is the way to go! I would't buy an RS without it. It's nice to be on a forum where people know what F41 is!

I love white on 1992 Camaro's. The F41 white accented rims look great. I wanted white for awhile.

Take care Aaron. I'd love to see your car! Are you going to keep it looking original? They look great stock!

Re: My 1992 Camaro RS

Thanks, I do baby it! It's in good hands, but right now the timing has issues advancing, so it's really slow. The timing won't advance under full throttle (or much under 60-80%). The last owner was messing with the computer and did a lot of things wrong. I already have $5,100 into the car, and next year it will need quite a bit more done. I might just have it rebuilt, or swap for an IROC-Z 305, tranny and computer that a friend has.

My bad man I didnt even know if this was addressed to me or not.. Lol It was after i read this thread a few times I had caught it.. I thought you were another Aaron on the forum because there are quite a few. You were probaly like whats this guys deal? lol.

Yup the car is going to be somewhat stock looking and I'm keeping the 16 inch stock rims and repainting the car the original arctic white color. I have already put a whole new interior in it,Like a dash-pad, some leather seats, new carpet, console and new door panels, and switches etc. That I got off a really low mileage wrecked 91 rs.BTW The leather seats actually weren't a z-28 option, the 91 we had was Fully loaded with everything,: convertible leather, pd/pw/ power seat etc, And it was an Rs

heres a few pictures of my car before I started stripping it and pictures with the new interior. (mind the old seat, Its for me to dirty it when I work on it and the kickpanels out, Getting speakers soon enough.)

The only thing thats gonna make it look different is I bought an iroc-z hood for a good price, Iroc Hood louvers, maybe a z28 91-92 z grill and some blacked out headlights buckets. So its still gonna be an rs with the emblems/16 inch rims, aero front spoiler, but also have some Iroc-z touches.

Really like the car very nice.

I like the 91-92 RS's But it seem like there always missing something on the front, maybe Im just use to my iroc, but what sonymaster20 said he was goin to do to his RS, Would really make it look nice.

iroc-z hood, Iroc Hood louvers,z28 91-92 z grill and some blacked out headlights buckets.

Not saying you need to to that lol. But on his white car I think it will look really nice.

By air-dam you mean front spoiler, right? I'm not doing anything with it until I replace it. Last owner obviously didn't get the hang of having to take embankments slow and at an angle. And yeah... the tires on the front suck. Both are different, and worn down really bad. Back are Firehawks in good condition.

Yeah... I'll get new tires next year, and snow tires... unfortunately it's going to need to be a winter driver! I have to get to college in it. I'll do an undercoat or something... any recommendations?

L98? You're a lucky man... those are impossible to find nowadays.

L98? You're a lucky man... those are impossible to find nowadays.

The car was originally ordered with the 350 TPI (L98). It was actually pretty easy to find but my story is a little different then typical. It was "the one" IROC I wanted, not an IROC I wanted. Go here and read my story about how/why I got it. Its a pretty interesting read, mine and others. Maybe you can add your own.

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/cama...d-you-get.html

As far as the under coating, the car won't get driven in the winter. It came from the dealer undercoated and is still in tack. The first time we owned it we never drove it in the winter really. It was horrible in the snow. I wont drive it in the winter this time either. I park the Camaro and the Corvette for the winter.

Good luck with it in the snow.

Lol... yeah I know. It'll be fun. I'll get some snow tires, a friend of mine has practically the same car (it's a 91, otherwise identical), and she does just fine all winter long.
