that (to me) is a great condition to start with... needs work but not TOO much. working on them, seeing the progress and making them how you want is the greatest. have fun with it and keep us posted on the progress!

yeah, thats a good deal. Its not too "messed" up to break the bank but it will also give you enough mechanical practice to get knowledgeable about your car. Those pieces can be had at a junkyard for probably under $40-$50...
yeah the best $500 iv ever spent, i just had my ignition module tested and its good so its about to go back into the car as soon as it stops snowing here
im going next week to pick up my driveshaft and my radiator for $165, then when spring comes around those are going in

that turn signal switch is simple, if youve got the stock wheel im gonna warn you its a PITA if youve never done it before, but its easy just make it a point to always keep track of where you pulled something from, it goes for all around the car lol its pretty nice i picked up my 89 with a 305 and a t5 for 2k so thats not a bad find, and theres always the possibility to rip out the motor/ tranny and beef it up like im doing
good luck!
good luck!
yeah, i finally figured out it was the little black box the turn signal arm goes to thats broken
i want to keep a v6 till im atleast over 18, 15 year old with 350 doesnt have a very good outcome

Congrats on the ride.
Too bad you weren't closer to me, I have a radiator and driveshaft from a 89 rs 2.8 I would give you for free.

Wow this is exactly like my car. Haha im 16 and i just bought a 89 RS about 2 months ago. Mine is also an auto, im missing my headliner, and i also have a hole in the drivers seat. Except i got mine for $900 and its got the 305.
Looks like a pretty nice car you got tho, and for a great price. Now all you need is a 350 to swap in

If I were to ever get a Camaro, I will go with black car, with red racing stripes and black wheels...

hey theres nothing wrong with being young with a ballsy car lol i used to drive my dads 69 gto, mainly track car, barely street legal before he got rid of it and that was my daily lol
honestly if youre gonna paint it you gotta realize that its alot more work to change the color rather than the shade, ie going from blue to white is a PITA if you want it to look clean cuz when you open your door it will still be blue, in my case im painting it to a darker blue but if your up to it go for it. You can make any color look good, its not just in the color its in the styling as well, like the aero GFX and z spoiler from a 92, alot of people go nuts for that including me lol its a clean look and looks good in almost any normal color.
If youre a fan of the blues id look into the 89's color, i dont know the name of it but its a deep blue its nice, i think in the 90's it changed to like "medium quasar blue" or something like that, i dont like that one personally, my hood is off a 90 and its an uuuuugly color compared to the rest of my car lol

Although my car is named after a race series, I've always associated Camaros with races and racing stripes and the Trans Ams with just straight "exotic" performance with a dab of luxury. But thats just my personal, nonprofessional, opinion...Originally Posted by evilemokid94

you can always just detail it very well to make the paint look new again...

Very kool ride. My first car was my 84 Camaro SC, which I got when I was 17. Im still driving it to school now. Ive owned my baby for a little over a year. I had a lot of fun with my car, I hope you do too!

great first car! Mine was a 1967 Ford Ranchero. yes, I was a Ford guy from 16 to 20. Luckily, the Marines allowed my nuts to drop and since then, Chevy all the way!
thanks for all the complamints guys... i really enjoy seeing that i got a good deal...i thought i wasted money when i first saw alot of parts in my center console because i didnt know what they went to besides the bolts to my front chin spoiler

I believe its the turn signal switch. The lever is called the turn signal stalk. The actual switch is inside the steering column and its NOT fun trying to get to it...
yeah, i can see its going to be hard to get too, it was fun just trying to figure out what was broken
do you guys know where i can get one? every where i go and type in turn signal switch all i get is wires

junkyard, or try some of our sponsors... Hawks might have it but they'll charge you alot. Maybe TPI Parts...
i checked with hawks and they dont have it, so junkyard here i come, and yeah its in the steering column...
Senior Member
try ebay too, type in "Camaro turn signal switch" and you'll get a bunch of different ones...
some updates since its gotten warmer here, iv gotten alot of parts for my car including my driveshaft, radiator, AC condenser, weather stripping, sun visors, hood latch, and my ashtray cover
when outside and popped my hood the other day to find a mice nest near my relays and they got to my AC relay and chewed on the wires so thats being replaced, i took out my seats today and those were a PITA to get out because they have never been removed before so the bolts were stiff, my floor boards and carpet and in great looking shape so ill be getting pictures tomorrow when i go to remove my back seat
at the moment im having hood and hatch problems, my hood keeps wanting to buckle when i open it and i cant get my hatch to work.

i think it looks good, it makes my car look crappy, which it is because my paint is in terrible shape, i love the way your engine bay looks, as you can see from mine, mine is really dirty and not that prettyOriginally Posted by 89rs305-DP

Very nice cars guys. I've had my Z since I started driving and i'm 20 now. It looked like crap I wish I had some pictures of before I painted it. I went with yellow just cause I wanted it to be seen from a mile away and now it sucks cause I got it custom painted and I CANNOT match it again to save my life. Another thing, when painting it black, black was only put on the cars that had PERFECT bodies cause it will show any imperfections. Just my
. I want to do an LS1 swap but those are so pricey but 3rd Gen+Ls1=pwn all haha. Great cars guys keep posting.

Well let me tell ya, you can do a LOT with a bottle of engine degreaser and a can of engine enamel and a couple hours of work. My engine bay looked horrible when i first bought itOriginally Posted by evilemokid94
