If you want to do a satin black or something along that lines, personally I'd do a vinyl wrap. it doesnt hurt the paint if its good so when you get tired of it you can peal it right off, and a full car is usually around 500-800 if i recall correctly

 

is this color rare? its factory. iv only seen one like it in the thread with all the pics taken back in 86 at the norwood assymbly plant.

I Know white isnt rare. But Iv seen A LOT of irocs and third gen camaros, and Iv never seen another white iroc with gold trim/interior.
Id love to see another one.

my car now has a navy blue door from 85, had the molding and still has the "fuel injection" door handle, anyone got another one i oculd have to make the car look symmetrical again

Well, I've got one of those sitting in my garage right now! Well, a "gold" one anyways; mine's an '82 Berlinetta. Makes me want to think twice about changing it's color.

 

The problem with Gun metal gray or dark metallic grey is that it fades when it gets too much sun. But I love the color.

 

I dont know if this is actually a rare color of not but I have only ever seen 2 one of them being mine. can someone tell me the numbers on how many of the dark bright teal were made in 91?

 

What's interesting about this is that is the color that I painted my faded Gun Metal gray 89 RS. I also put on Hot Pink pinstripping. It looked pretty...no... really good !

Cool that you found that color, that's the color of my 84 Camaro, gold trim and wall. I just figured out what that color is called, GM Code 65E, Dark Goldwing Metallic (at least on Chevy, on Pontiac could be different). Haven;t seen many like it, and none in person. Didn't even know it came on pontiacs, but that's a cool car.

 

If it's copper, then yes in that they only offered it during 1985 and from the White Book: ~11k made in 1985 and two were supposedly produced in 1986. Looks like a Berlinetta as well.

 

yes its an 85 berlinetta. just thought it was a strange color, because it looks like two completely differant colors in sun, and in shade. looks copper and bright in the sun, and dull and brown in the shade. i just so happen to find another one identical for sale on craigslist for 2k. pretty tempting, but they had already swapped engine and trans in it. so its not all original like mine

 

was polo green really a rare color? ive seen one of those burnt orange irocs, except with matching 26"s lol. I really like that green grey

Yes, it's one of my favorite colors, I have an '85 sport coupe that's copper. But mine has kind of a pinkish fade to it and it's also rusty. If the car were closer to me I might consider it too.

 

I have been searching everywhere for a "Dark Brown" 87 Camaro IROC. I hear there wasn't many made of these. Does anyone have a photo or even find a photo on this car?!

thats why I love this color so much cause its not seen everyday. And thats why when I get around to redoing my trans am its starying this original color.

 

85 russet metallic z28 5 speed car my new project looks like shell wind up with a 5.7 but i am gonna put her back original as far as the 5 speed goes

There is one for sale by me...not sure on the year but its a brown iroc

 

I would jump on the bandwagon here, but the 88 isn't even close to factory anymore... Been repainted twice. Don't know how rare it was, but I do know, from the RPO sheet I found in the car on one piece, it was Gunmetal Metallic with a Carmine Red interior, TBI 305 and T-5, hardtop, no options (power nothing, non-A/C, 3.08 open drum rear). Started out factory Gunmetal, turned Bright Red, and ended up whatever red it is now...

Question: Go back to the factory Gunmetal when all is said and done or continue with the plan and go with Carbon Flash (think 2011 Malibu)? I almost would have her repainted red (paint's chipping in a lot of places), but I don't even know what red it IS... Seems like a candy red (I know there is a coat of Silver Metallic underneath it).
