Post pics of the rare colors and heritage cars!!!!

I am talking cars like the burnt orange IROC, the yellow IROCs, gunmetal grey, polo green, purple haze, the 85 sliver IROCS, the teal 92 Z28, etc. you get the idea.

I don't think gunmetal gray is such a rare color... is it? It's not original on mine, although one of the donor cars was a factory original gunmetal gray 1983 Z28. I liked the color so I ended up painting the whole car like that.

That donor Z28 would have looked exactly like this, minus the third brake light and possibly with a different interior.

Do you mean medium grey metallic? They aren't that rare when looking at production numbers but you hardly ever see one.

Dark Claret Metallic 1982 Z28, this I think is the third rarest color in 1982, I own the only two I have ever seen! This is my nice one, original paint.

Re: Post pics of the rare colors and heritage cars!!!!

I'm not exactly sure of the name of the color but its whatever stock brown was in 1984. I think this is a pretty rare color, ive seen one in person once and a few online and that was it. i'm pretty sure production numbers were really low, less than 1% i think. some people dont like it but I do, it almost looks orange when in the sun.

my understanding is that the burnt orange of 88 is pretty rare (something like 3-4k painted this color, please correct me if I am wrong) and the only year they painted third gens that color.

Re: Post pics of the rare colors and heritage cars!!!!

Theres a gold 82 Z/28 here in Yreka thats for sale for I think $1000 or BO. I drive by it every day but havent stopped to look at it. It does have the tan interior and I cant tell if its a 4 speed or auto. The back bumper cover is missing as it was hit in the rear but doesnt look like too much damage otherwise. The paint is in really good condition if its the original paint. If anyone wants me to go take a few pics I will do that if someone is really interested and will get the phone #.
Update...car is gone

heres mine dark green grey first year for that color, not alot around not sure about production numbers either though. yes oscar the heritage was a 92 option, all 92 camaros were 25th's but the heritage package was the striping option on the red black and white cars with color matched grilles. dont think think that any other colors had stripes, but could be wrong.

The White Book says...

...2,659

But there is also a Dark Teal (14,779) and a Polo green II (5,365) for that year as well.

did you swap in a 5.7? T-top cars never came with them, 5.0l is the largest v8 they got.

Yes it is a VERY low number since the only made 69823 camaros that year and only 2659 were your color so thats 3.8%. thats pretty low

My dark metallic grey only made 8628 out of 96275, and that 8.9 percent which is kinda low looking at production #s but I have the only one in iowa that ive seen in the last two years ive had it, everyone has black, red, or the blue i saw like 2 or 3 of each TODAY, i have never seen the yellow, orange, silver, or EVEN a white one and there was just over 15k in whitein 88 alone, doubt ill even see the 1.5k Silver of 88s

For the record in 92 white, red, black, and green(gold stripes) had stripe options. I think there might have been a purple with black stripes or black with purple stripes too, but Im not sure.

The White book says 3010 Medium Orange. I know that Copper was produced only one year in 1985 (11,406) and that is as close to burnt orange as you might see. What color is your interior BTW?

Incorrect... That fact was only valid for 91-92 Z's. They couldn't have 350's and T-tops. Once the 350 came out in 87 they were OK in t-top cars...

I have two yellow Iroc's right now.

One 85 with black interior and one 86 with tan...

Here is a pic of my 92 RS, Polo Green with Heritage package. Just bought it in April. All original except for hood. Polo green Z03 came with gold stripes, black grill and headlamp pockets, beige was only conv. top and interior color. It also got gold Rs badging on exterior and gold accents on wheels. For some reason it was only offered on RS.

Is it really a rare color? Your RS is what mine is/was! Same thing from the paint to wheels, well besides it being a t-top version. Too bad paint was shot.

Very rare, you never see them anymore and low numbers

Sorry david, can't say who made the stripes, hood was on it when I bought it. I can tell you that they were painted on (very good job, done about 8 or 9 years ago, to bad there is a small rock chip in one). The back ones are still the original vinyl and they have been clear coated. Noone notices the difference until I tell them to rub their fingers over them.
Carlos773 do you still have the original gold wheels, I could always use a spare set
