89 RS Restoration

stock rebuild 305 TBI but bored .030 over. Only mods are headers and air filter.

I like the black/blue scheme in the engine bay. Chrome water elbow, breather and air cleaner offset it as well.

Interior went from being grey into all black panels (doors and all the plastic), black/grey leather and new grey rug, headliner and sun visors

I changed the plastics. I got a great deal on weatherstripping, plastics, glass and more from a guy 3 hours away. I did however paint black a few of the side pieces on the seat. I used Krylon gloss black.

This thread actually should not have been moved because it is an ongoing restoration project. I'm still working on the interior gauges, heater core, horn and then have the exterior to do.

Re: 89 RS Restoration

I hit it with a couple coats of primer today. I used an HVLP turbine this time and it worked great; I love it.

I'll let it sit a few days while I'm out of town, then wet it with 800, seal and finally paint.

I'm using single stage urethane, arctic white from paintfor cars.com

then i can finish the gauges, installing the new stereo and finally be done. Someone is going to get themselves basically a new car.
