New photos of the IROC!

Some of you have been asking for some updated pics of the car....so here they are! It has been 5+ years since she went under the knife! Some new updates include being fully "de-badged", and 91-92 nose with filled in side sections, and carbon hood. There are a host of other items that have been done to the car, but will keep it simple for now.

Re: New photos of the IROC!

That is hands down the best looking vert I have seen in a really long time.

Are your taillights darkened on the inside or outside?

What else have you done to it? Did you swap out the rear end?

Did not swap out the rear, although it has been extensively modified to handle the greater torque output of the 383.
Basically, nothing is really stock on the car anymore.

Ha I have the same windshield decal on mine, except mine has been on the car for years and really shows its age. What material do you have on the center console? Looks kind of fuzzy...

Re: New photos of the IROC!

Not a big fan of the interior, but I do have to say I love the rims and really love the fab work of blending the two chin spoilers together...I too wish the '85-'90 cars had a more aggressive point like the '91-'92 cars did.

Car is beautiful.

EDIT: Why did you get rid of the fog lights?

Re: New photos of the IROC!

I think that is actually a ´91-´92 chin spoiler with the sides smothed out, rather then having these pseudo openings in them.

If you look at the end of the spoiler, towards the wheel arch, it slightly flares outwards. The prior chin spoilers (´85 - ´90?) did not do that at all.

Re: New photos of the IROC!

It's hard to tell, I thought I saw him say in another thread that he cut the spoilers and molded the side parts of an '85-'90 spoiler to the center/front section of a '91-'92 spoiler, but perhaps I'm mistaken. Either way, it looks superb.

Correct....it is a 91-92 spoiler with the sides smoothed.

Re: New photos of the IROC!

I really think that hood will look killer if it´s painted in black, with unpainted rally stripes where the CF shows through.

Best with a canvas/white or very light grey pinstripe

Everytime I see this car I start looking up cost of stripping out some chrome 18 IROC's! I too am interested how you filled the chin spoiler vents. Great car should be proud.

Re: New photos of the IROC!

The car looks amazing! (As it always has) I have always wondered how those hood pins would look... LOVE THEM!!! I'm pretty sure I don't like the suede on the interior, but maybe better shots of the interior would change my mind.

I would really love to see your car with a nice set of Rushforth, or Iforged wheels. Gloss black center with brush hoops 18xWIIIIDDDEEEE all the way around

Re: New photos of the IROC!

Very nice man.

1. Where did you find a carbon fiber hood, or did you just wrap a steel hood?

2. Personal preference here, but I like it more with the iroc-z door decals.

3. I think wrapping a stock dash pad in suede would help out a bit, maybe make it look more factory than having a dash cover with the rest being suede?

4. Let's see some engine bay shots!!!

Overall, freaking clean. I've always liked your car.

Hi There,
Yes, the wheels were widened by an aftermarket source.

Thanks for all of the nice words folks. In terms of the interior, it is a work in progress. I will have some engine shots up soon!

The hood is made in Canada. I have the link to the guy who makes it in another thread. I actually purchased the hood new from a local guy who decided to part with his car. As far as I know, this is the only one in the US. I am not sure if the company stopped making them. I will try to find the link for you.

Re: New photos of the IROC!

My only exterior suggestion would be to lose the windshield banner, it doesn't flow at all with the rest of the car, with the debadging, etc.

Looks sweet man. The front chin spoiler idea I have had for years, just couldn't find anybody willing to fill those goofy side vents.

Love the hood, the louvers look a little too hand-cut if you know what I mean...other than that, the car is very nice.

I definitely know what you mean! Cutting these things by hand is a major nightmare! I was willing to have them cut by a machine or something, but after some research, I was not able to find anyone that could do such a thing. The only alternative would be to fabricate new louvers with the design, but that would be major $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!
I plan on going back and cleaning up the cuts and the hood soon.

4. Let's see some engine bay shots!!!
I was thinking that maybe wrapping the dash in that 3M carbon fiber vinyl might look really cool on his car. Not the cheese dic stuff, but the matte textured CF wrap.

I agree on the engine bay shots!

I would be interested in the link to the hood. I think it would look sick with my blisters on it, and my stripes. You can PM them if you wanna keep it on the DL

Looking good

As was said before, every time I see your car I get a little angry...

Why don't wheel companies make polished aluminum iroc replicas instead of chrome?!?! WHY??!?!!??! WHY!?!??!!!!!

Re: New photos of the IROC!

Absolutely stunning! Do you recall where in Canada the hood was from? There was a guy a few months back selling one around my area but thought it was a knock off junk piece. Could you send some high rez shots this way? I'd love some for wallpaper

Re: New photos of the IROC!

How are you going in trying to find that link for the CF Hood.

I need this part badly.

I found some CF for the rear hatch deck and spoiler.

Please see the link below. If you can't reach him, you may want to post something in the Canadian forum.
