Still a couple of bigger dollar items left to be acquired but when done, it's going to have a fresh body and mostly new interior (except plastics).

Sweet ride!!! Exactly the look I am going after (except I plan on the stock wheels but polished).
Where did you get the parking light covers and taillight covers?

Here's a closer look at the wheels. They are from ROH (makers of the wheels for Firehawk) only custom wheel cap center logos. The headlight and parking lights were hand made from old taillight stock.

Thank Reef.
i made the set for the parking lights and headlights from an old set of taillight stock that I had laying around and even made a cover for the center opening that houses the fog lights but use only for show only as it blocks the air flow. Heres a pic of trunk area with 2-12" subs

Very nice find. Excellent price too. Its great that you're fixing it back up to the way it was. Its even a G92 car. Atleast you have a girl that buys you stuff for your Z. My girl could care less about my iroc but I dont care what she thinks. Cant wait to see your Z done.

Anyway, time for an update. I did a little work on the Z yesterday and made some progress before my sander broke. Yesterday I focused on the hood blisters and a bit of the top of the car.

Top in current state. Like I mentioned, my sander broke so I was only able to get the driver side of the top about 80% sanded. Went ahead and sprayed some primer on it to protect the metal.

Reef;
I used the original lenses as a template then after cutting and sanding, drilled two holes to match where the original have there's and just overlayed the original. The factory screw were long enough to reuse.

Reef,
That's different. I suppose I'll double check mine and get back to you on this (the car is in Florida and I leaving for there Friday).

Picked up a few items from 1A Auto.
New sun visors color 1810
New sail panels color 1810
New regal velour door panels to match new seats in color 628H
Items remaining for interior are dash pad, console lid and the only other thing that wouldn't be new are the seat belts.

Placed another order today. This time I picked up tinted parking lights and side markers. Both were ordered from ebay so I hope they are decent.

Where can I check out your ride at?
Today I received the other set of lights I ordered. The parking lights are not nearly as "tinted" as the side markers but I think they'll still look much better than the stock lights.

Re: Z's Z28 (1991 Camaro Z28)
Received a couple of UPS packages yesterday. As it stands now I've got a room full of parts and haven't put anything on the car yet. LOL But when the time comes to start putting this thing together I'm going to be ready to roll.
What I received:
New door panels to match the new seat upholstery.
New sun visors
New sail panels
All three new items match the seat upholstery, headliner and new carpet perfectly. Very pleased. What's left for the interior are the dash pad and console lid. Everything else will be brand new or in excellent condition (plastics).
I've got a few exterior purchases yet to make as well after further consideration. I need to get the mirror polished arctic white Z28 wheels from Thirdgenranch and I need to get a set of new fog lights. Contemplating those purchases now.
Until then, here are a few pictures of the new items.

Here's a link to what I purchased from ebay.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/85-92-Chevro...item2a14579954
As mentioned before they are not as tinted as the side markers but look better than the factory lenses. A little VHT Niteshade might do the trick on them for me.

Wow, it's been a while since I've provided an update. Don't worry, I've been busy....SHOPPING.
I have ordered:
Stock Z28 Polished rims in arctic white ordered from Thirdgenranch.
Roof rail weather stripping
Hatch weather stripping
Hopefully in a few weeks I can make some real progress on the body work.

Received the roof rail weather strip and the hatch weather strip. Also talked to Denny from Thirdgenranch last night and he said that they just finished my rims and would be shipping today or Monday. I'm looking forward to receiving them; he said they turned our great!

Re: Z's Z28 (1991 Camaro Z28)
Got some work done on the body of the car today. About 3 or 4 more days like today and it'll be ready for paint.
First it was time to finish the hood. The first pass at it showed promise but it was unfinished. Today we were able to use some body filler to feather it smooth and complete the job.
I'm pleased with the finish and think it has been salvaged.

Last for today was the passenger quarter. It was in the worse shape. The previous paint job was horrible in this area but after a couple of hours it now is nice and smooth.

Re: Z's Z28 (1991 Camaro Z28)
The next major body work to do will be the driver side ground effects. Previous owners screwed a few of them on and they need to be properly fixed. Outside of that, the body just needs more sanding (roughest parts done now) and we'll be ready for paint. I still have a costly component to buy for the exterior and that is the new fog lights. $300... Seems ridiculous but what do you do.

Re: Z's Z28 (1991 Camaro Z28)
Right now I am just using Krylon primer (rattle can) so I can protect the surface and see imperfections as I go.
Thanks. That looks nicer than the smoked lenses I got but. Once it's all done and they are installed I might need to do something more with them.
Took some time today to do some general sanding on the body. I worked on the passenger side mostly and rear bumper. Nothing specific just continuation of the much needed body work.

Last batch for today. Did find some bondo I wasn't aware of in the passenger door. There were also some nasty chips under the molding. We'll get it repaired though.

Reef,
I called the people at SEMA actiion network (SAN) about Kentucky having collector car registration and they came back with a negative. They weren't aware of any special vehicle State regulation. REAL BUMMER
