Got the 1LE out for some excercise
Got the 1LE out for some excercise
Took the old girl for a ride yesterday. Drove about 100 miles. It's amazing how well third gen cars drive, even by todays standards.

Thanks Man!!! I love driving it. I'm going to drive it some more tonight if the weather allows. It's amazing how differently they all act (350vs.LB9vs.L69, etc.). It's like they have a different personality, but they're fun just the same.

Your garage looks pretty cool too.

Thanks! It looks like a bomb went off in it right now. I try to get everything out and mop three or four times a year. We've been so busy at work, it's gotten neglected this year so far. There are Trans Am pieces scattered everywhere and I had the doors apart on the '83 yesterday repalcing some rubber items that had turned to rock. I've got to get caught back up again now that work is back to a somewhat normal pace.

Yeh, I've gotta do that to my '83.

It's the strangest thing. The rubber triangles at the leading edge of the glass were as hard as rock. They actually broke apart like they were hard plastic. They were easy to change, you just have to take the door apart to do it. The new ones fit like a glove.

Where did you get the replacement pieces from?

Oh yeah, I replaced those awhile ago on my '83. I got the same impression. I was almost convinced that they were made of a different material or something - that's how hard and brittle they were. Since they were so hard, they didn't seal at all, and created a very ANNOYING wind leak.
