Re: My 1991 RS Specs

If it's a 91, there is no MAF. They went to speed density/MAP in 1990.

Well what did me and my dad wire together? Off the snorkel there is a plug, is this the air flow sensor ?

What's a maf, mass air flow? Because I installed the complete cold air intake snorkel and attached that wire that my old air filter was plugged into.

I got the cai off a 1988 2.8L I didn't use the connecting boot thing whatever you call it because it had a huge ugly heavy chip inside plastic piece even a metal air strainer inside.

Re: My 1991 RS Specs

You are probably talking about the Intake Air Temperature sensor as I believe that is plugged into the air filter box.

That big ugly piece of plastic with thee metal air strainer off of the 88 is a MAF. You are correct, MAF stands for Mass Airflow Sensor.

Yep it's the IATS and it screws into the side of the stock round air box. I have a 92 3.1 and it is for sure a MAP car. Lets see some pix of this car.

Re: My 1991 RS Specs

Here are the pics of the air intake setup. It looks to me like a stock 85-89 IROC/Z28 TPI air intake.

Thanks for posting the pictures for me. So everything is hooked up like it should be. I'm really trying to find an aluminum driveshaft for my car trying to spend under 80$ I went to the junkyard yesterday and couldn't find any.

I even was looking at like older 4th gens but I would rather get one out of an 3rd gen.

Good luck on finding one in the junk yards.... in my years and years I have seen 1. You never know what you'll come across, though.

Fasteddi

Just wanted to say thank you for the burned chip. I ran moates adapter and Fasteddi burned me a custom chip for my goals for the car which are better MPG. I just drove from LA to San fransico went 380 miles @ 65 mph and I still have a quarter tank.
