A little update. Over the weekend I shampoo cleaned the rear cargo carpet and cleaned the interior panels. Reinstalled the rear carge and side plastics. Got the amps mounted and subs that I bought. I will be getting the rest of the stereo stuff in the next day or two. Also found everything I need to get A/C back in the car. Right now I'm not looking for any real power out of the car. Just a cruiser. It may get the LS treatment some day. I'll have some pictures soon to share. I'm hoping to get the car on the road withing the month of June and before my birthday so I can enjoy it.

I got the amps, 6x9's and subs installed and wired. So that should complete the cargo area. I need to either start working on the front carpet on trying to get that cleaned. Hoping it's not too stained and dirty for that and I still need to get that driver door hinge fixed. I am happy to finally be making some progress on it other than sanding and more sanding on the body.

Couple of the dash up close. Cleaned the steering wheel and scrubbed the dash with a tooth brush and cleaner. 10 years of dirt left me with a whole pile of black paper towels. Pulled the vents out and cleaned inside the duct and washed the vents. Put some new foam on them so they don't flop around anymore.

Going to take a small break from the interior and get the smog equipment removed and put the A/C equipment back on. I'll have to pinch the air tube going to the cat till I get that off of there. Figured even if the interior is torn apart I could still drive the car with some A/C. Once I get that all done this week then I'll get back to cleaning the interior and putting it back together. Still procrastinating on that driver door hinge, but I'll get to it one of these days. Still plenty of other stuff left to get done.

Got all the A/C equipment back on last night and all but a couple of air tubes removed of the smog equipment. Got the one tube going to the cat that I already disconnected and the tube that goes from one side to the other on the back of the motor. Going to vacuum pump and fill the A/C system tonight. Hopefully everything works. Anyone have any tricks for getting the tubes unbolted from the back of the engine without removing a bunch of stuff? Trying to keep the stuff intact.

Got the A/C system vacuumed with the $20 Ebay air pump style pump which seemed to do its job. No gauge to see how much vacuum I was pulling with that and my air compressor. I put both bottles of the A/C Pro R134 retrofit kit and the A/C is ice cold now and it was in the 90's here today. Took it for a drive and everything is good. Now to get back to cleaning the interior and putting that back together, but at least I can drive it in the heat now and not sweat my **** off. If the driver seat was clean and not filthy I'd be taking it to work tomorrow. Who needs passenger seats.

I picked up these items I left links for below. I also had a hose from other A/C projects in the past that fits the dryer low side fitting on the car. I adjusted my air compressor to what the booklet of the vacuum pump said which was between 75 and I think 185. I have a small compressor so it wasn't really important to adjust it. It really requires a constant flow of 90psi for the pump to work properly. I connected the hose I had to the low side on the dryer in the car and connected the other end to the vacuum. The vacuum comes with R12 and R134 fittings on it. I then connected the vacuum to the air compressor and ran for 10 minutes. It says it builds its vacuum within 2 minutes. So once I had it vacuumed and replaced the fittings for R134 that came with the recharge kit which just screw over the existing R12 fittings. I then put both bottles of the A/C pro stuff into the car at the same fitting on the dryer using the new fitting with the kit. You have to have the car off when vacuuming and on when charging the system. I had my car at operating temperature when I put the A/C pro bottles in. If you do this you will of course want to read the instructions that come with both items, but it was pretty simple and didn't take long.

At the time I found the air vacuum pump I was looking for the motorized vacuum pumps or an alternative. Got tired of trying to track someone down to borrow their motorized vacuum pump and new ones weren't the cheapest. This is a very nice alternative. I've used other refrigerant alternatives to R12 in the past, but not anything I can find around here today. So I wasn't sure about the Autozone stuff either. Turns out that both worked out very well and my system is now R134 compliant with fittings.

Haven't started on the keyless entry yet. I spent all day Saturday cleaning the front carpet. Some of the stains I could not get out and parts of the carpet are faded. So I was looking at detailer king and they have dye you can buy and add water to. I think I'm going to try that out and just do the whole front carpet. The cargo carpet looks good and no stains. Maybe some fading but it will be covered for the most part. I plan on replacing the carpet with new in a year or two anyway. In the mean time while I wait for that stuff to get here I'll shampoo the seats and try to work on the keyless entry. I'll get some pictures in the morning and post them of how much I was able to get clean on the carpet.

Been on vacation for the last week and we have a festival that goes on during the week of the 4th, but I did get the carpet died and the seats shampooed and all except the driver seat reinstalled. I don't know if I'll have time to work on it this week or not. Here are some pictures though. The carpet did turn out looking a little better with the dye, but will need to still be replaced in the future. Seat covers too. The fronts are a little faded. The rears seem good, but I have a split rear back that will be going in some time in the future.

I'm trying to decide if I want to change to these wheels. I had them on my 98 Riviera that I would swap out each spring and change back to the original wheels for the winter. I no longer feel like changing them out each year so I'm considering putting them on the IROC. I checked and made sure I can get wheel adapters/spacers to match up the 5x115 bolt matter to the IROC 5x4.75 pattern. They would be 1.25" spacers that I need to make sure would clear with these wheels. They already look close to the IROC style wheels. These are 18" diameter. Only 7.5" wide so I am limited to tire sizes and won't be able to go more than a 245 probably.

Got the dome light/courtesy light dimmer module working and the radio timer delay. Found out the 12v switched lead was not going to full 0 volts with the key off. Kept messing with the dimmer module. I made up a relay to solve the problem. What these do is act like newer cars electronics. When you turn the key off the radio will stay on for 15 minutes or until you close the door. The dome light dimmer will fade out after 10 minutes if the doors are left open and fades out after 20 seconds if the door is close. Then fades out right away with the ignition on. I have these installed on my 80 Z28 and really like the functions. Going to try to get the wiring buttoned up after work and maybe get the driver seat put back in. I hope! I want to drive the car again! It's been at least a month since I drove it last.

I got mine off of EBay. It was listed as a 95 Blazer module # ABO0116R. There are other models of these keyless entry modules. I believe they were used in GM vehicles from like 92 to 96. They use the square remotes where I think 97 on up use more rounder remotes and those modules are more integrated into the vehicles systems. This thread might be of some help if you are looking at doing this.

Got a little more done over the weekend. Got the wiring all buttoned up under the dash. Installed the driver seat and bottom console piece. Changed out all the dash light bulbs to LED. Working on installing the double din DVD receiver into the dash. I moved the climate controls to the bottom location. Found out the switch at the A/C accumulator was cracked and leaking so I have to fix that and get the A/C working again tonight.

Replaced the switch at my A/C accumulator and recharged the system last night. It is not blowing as cold as it did when I charged it 2 months ago. I used AC Pro the first time and this time I'm using the Autozone stuff. I will be taking a gauge to it tonight and a thermometer to the vents to see what exactly I have. With my one gauge last night I was at about 50psi at 90 degrees on the low side. I didn't have a gauge fitting to fit the high side. The low side line was cold and the high side line was hot. I don't know if the high side is supposed to be hot or not. I'm not sure if I have a clog somewhere or an evaporator core issue or if I need a different type of R134 which I thought were all the same. It's possible it is still a little over charged. The system was not empty when I added more R134 to it. I did have it over charged for sure. The compressor was acting weird and sluggish till I let some pressure out of the low side and it has been fine since. It has a new condenser and the compressor seems to be working fine. I haven't found any other leaks in the system. Anyone have any suggestions or reasons for this? It also seems to let off a lot of pressure around the evaporator/accumulator area when I turn the car off. Not sure exactly where it is coming from. I don't remember if that was normal or not.

Did a little more over the weekend, but didn't get any pictures yet. I finally figured out where I wanted to put the tweeters and got them installed and wired up. Mounted the accy jack in the console and got that wired. Installed some more of the interior trim pieces and set the dvd player in the hole in the console where I'm going to be mounting it. Went for a short drive to make sure the A/C was still working. Seems to still be working fine. I'll know if I still have a leak in a month or two. That seems to be how long it took this last time to leak off. So I'll just keep working on installing the dvd player and maybe get the push button start installed. I also have weather stripping for the doors to change out yet. Maybe in a month I'll change that driver door hinge pin and get the side ground effects on... I really keep procrastinating about that job.

Got the A/C dialed in a little more over the weekend and got the passenger weather stripping all replaced. Also got the door panels cleaned and the passenger one assembled and on the car. I did take it for a nice drive Saturday afternoon for about 50 miles. Can't wait till it's completely back together.
I haven't forgotten about you BiggTrav. I still need to dig out the box with the shifter in it and get you those measurements.

I did a little research BiggTrav and found the part number for that rear bracket since I haven't had time to dig out my box of stuff. The part number should be 117 4773. That's from the installation manual for this shifter. This site I have linked shows it on page 40. I don't know if you can purchase it or not. Hope that helps.

I dug out the box with my dual gateshifter in it. The bag that has the rear bracket in it is sealed with other parts and I can not open it and be able to reseal the bag. Unfortunately I am not able to get the measurementsfor it since I do not want to open that bag until I install the shifter. This is in case I decide to sell it and I want it in new unopened condition till then. When I do go to install it and open the bag I will be able to get the measurements then. I do apologize for the inconvenience BiggTrav.

Few pics from over the weekend. Got the push button start button installed and wired in. I may take it back off and paint that chrome ring black and possibly look for a blue button. I don't have the light hooked up for it since it was rather bright. Also finished putting the dash back together.
