1985 Its a Start
I just picked up my first Third Gen Camaro last week, The weather has been horrible so I have not found much time to work on it yet. Im still trying to figure out if its a Sport Coupe or a Berlinetta. It only has about 84,000 miles on the body and chassis and very few miles on a fresh rebuild the previous owner had done to the stock 2.8 multiport V6 I plan on keeping the 2.8 while I do the much needed body and interior work and search for a good v8 block to build up. At first I thought about making it look like an Iroc, but now I think I will keep it looking as she came from the factory with the exception of a spoiler and maybe a different hood. Im on a very limited budget but we all have to start somewhere right?

If It Was A Berlinetta It Would Have The Berlinetta Nameplate On The Front,Rear,And Both Sides Of The Car. The Berlinetta Would Also Have The Electronic Insturment Panel.

Re: 1985 Its a Start
Yes long term Im considering it. I missed out on another 3rd Gen with title issues that had a 350 5 speed combo I would of loved to have. First step is body work and wheels. Im keeping the body pretty stock but will be adding a spoiler and if I can find a proper L88 hood scoop or full hood I may add that as I've always liked that hood. I dont need nothing radical just clean and drivable. Maybe a mild cammed 350 with a little lump. The 2.8 was just rebuilt by the previous owner. for what he has into that 2.8 multi port I could of built a pretty nice v8.

Keeping it original is unique now days. 1985 was the last year before clear coat paint, from the picture it looks a little faded, but could be the weather. It should buff out pretty nice. If the owner rebuilt the engine there is a good chance the car has been maintained. However you might want to check your shocks struts and suspension bushings. Worn shocks can potentially lead to your dash cracking.
