Getting Started on my '83

I'm glad to be here! I've got an '83 Camaro. My father bought it new in 1983 and gave it to me in 1996, we worked on it a little after the engine blew, and it has set for the last 16 years.

I've got it in the garage and plan to start rebuilding her slowly. One interesting thing I've noticed about it is the location of the radio antenna is on the passenger side rear from the factory. I've have not seen one like that before, has anyone else?

Never seen any third gen with the antenna located there, but i must say i do like it there, my 84' is on the passenger side front fender, its white like yours with a blue pinstripe, either way, do you know of anywhere I can get grills for our car? The opening for where the grills would go are 8''L x 4''H and for some reason the aftermarket shops i looked into only carry the Z28 grills which are 8.5''L x 4''H

I don't...I've noticed the same thing. We might be better off switching to a Z front clip !

What color would you consider your interior to being, I've got an 84 Z that has the same color? I need a head liner, but all colors that I've looked at in catalogs don't match up.

The body tag decodes as "camel" but I think the "light doe skin" I've seen looks closer. It's hard to tell becuase I have no idea how much, if any, it has faded.

Re: Getting Started on my '83

mine is navy blue on the inside, i just had my headliner, sun visors, and sail panels reupholstered a little darker than the factory color, my car didnt have a headliner in it when i got it so thats why the reason i had mine reupholstered, we figured the sail panels ad visors faded so i had them redone
