My first car was a thirdgen camaro and my second an Iroc. It has been 10 years since I have owned one and am happy to say recently I acquired this 1985 Iroc Z, first year of the Iroc and only year for silver. It's the only Camaro I have owned without T-Tops. The car was a steal but needs some work, it has just over 50k on the odometer.
Going to get all the necessities taken care of like the mushy brakes, temp guage doesn't work and hatch pull down motor is inoperable too. After that and going through it I am considering doing lots of suspension stuff like lowering, sfc, and strut tower brace along with some wheels. Here are some pictures.
Just some small odds and ends. Temp gauge doesn't work, needs tires and brakes, AC doesn't work, hatch motor doesn't work. For $4000 I can't complain though as the body and interior are very clean and its tough to find a low mileage example. Other then the stereo and exhaust it is stock. Good news is the fuel pump has been replaced on it, injectors and some other stuff done in the past few months. I have a good book of receipts and car fax with it. Just want to get all these odds and ends done so then I can do some suspension and wheels.

I almost bought that car myself. Just did not have the space for it.
Let me know if need any help getting it up to speed or want to cruise up to the pavilions in Scottsdale. I am in Mesa and always enjoy working on a Thirdgen.
Temp gauge- bad sending unit in head.
Hatch motor - broken motor housing
Don't change the wheels! The stock IROC Rims are perfect on that silver car.

Thanks buddy for the offer. I am actually looking for a shop to get it up to speed but wouldn't mind finding an inexpensive shade tree mechanic who knows these cars who wants to make a few bucks. Cruising would be fun. Since I have gotten it I haven't driven it but a few miles, don't feel comfortable until all the issues are taken care of.

I would not charge you. All of those things you mentioned are easy fixes. My only fee is you have to let me take it for a spin around the block. just pm me and we can connect on a weekend some time.

I appreciate that bud. Any recommendation on parts I should get? I am kind of confused when it comes to the trunk motor as I have seen the housing for sale and the whole mechanism.
The hatch motor did not come about until '86. So yours is fine
Very nice car, I love the silver 85's (have one myself)! And that's the nicest looking red '85-'86 Custom Cloth interior I've seen in a LONG time!
Thanks for the compliment on the interior. I will have to inspect to see why my hatch isn't closing flush. Might just need to be adjusted. I assumed the hatch motor was messed up but if it doesn't have one well...
Beautiful car! Im not a fan of red interiors but it looks great with the silver paint! Classic industries sells new temp gages if your gage is broken. They are very easy to change out. Just plugs into the dash assembly.
My buddy and I have been going through the car and doing some upgrades. Mainly suspension along with getting these wheels and tires on. 285 35 18s on 18x10.5 inch wheels all the way around. Eyeing up a donor SS camaro to do a LS1 swap for the drivetrain along with the brakes.
