Thank you for the compliment.
I'm Using Evans waterless coolant. No rusting with that, and it's good for life if not contaminated with water. You can even use it in another car after taking it out of the car it is in, if you flush the system correctly. It lasts forever and keeps the car cooler than traditional coolants.

Re: BUILDING UP THE 383

awesome job there. nice build.

quick question for ya, I have been considering replacing my factory rubber fuel flex lines with braided ones..just as you have done. I have yet to disconnect them and attempt to buy -AN fasteners and adapters, but might add it to my winter projects list if you happen to know which ones you bought. for the lines coming from the hardlines and going over to the fuel rails. the feed and return flex lines. any idea? it is hard to tell how you routed them in the photos; I actually only see them in the top corner of the last of your photos

also, how do you like the roller tip rockers? I was considering swapping my current stock stamped steel ones for the magnum roller tip style, but I am on the fence about doing it, or saving $ for my future 406 sbc nitrous biuld.

Thank you very much. The lines just replace the rubber lines that were factory. I still used the factory fuel lines to the fuel rail with the factory routing, the hard line. I'm not sure what the sizes were, I know they are both different but I did that 2 years ago and would have to find the invoice for the sizes you are asking about. I'm just not home for a few weeks, but will try to get that for you. I remember just taking them to my machine shop/parts guy who is amazing, and telling him to match them and make it work, which he did a great job on as well as my power steering lines. As for the roller rockers, they are Crane and I've always used rollers so I can't remember what it feels like without them. If you are saving for a different engine you are going to build, and they won't fit that engine, then I would wait. They are alot for pieces you might only use for a little while. That's your tough choice lol. I guess you could get them them sell them when you change engines. Here is a pic of the lines.

Re: BUILDING UP THE 383

thanks for the reply man!

Yup, that is exactly what I was considering doing for the braided lines... have thought about it for a while, but other more meaningful modifications came up first. Yea, I can probably pull my factory lines off (which appear fine despite being 30 years old), and then go to the local speed shop to have a set built with braided line and -An -NPT connectors. I could also build them myself too, but that would just take a bit of research to figure out thread sizes and proper couplings etc.

Also, I have considered the roller tip rockers for a few years also, and hopefully in about another year I will be removing this current engine to replace with what I mentioned above. I have hopeful dreams of putting this engine and TPI into my old 1995 jeep wrangler as plenty of people have already done, so the roller tip rockers wouldn't be a total waste.. but at this point in time i'll probably hold off on doing so.

thanks for the reply, and should you get a chance to ever look up that invoice and see the specific components that were used to make both of those fuel lines..I'd love to know. reply or email me, or send me a pm Thanks!
