Re: Bud's 86 IROC Z Build

Nice work, your car looks like a clone to my '87 5-speed. I notice your seat belt belt release buttons are all pink and faded like mine.v I found through research these are the GM recalled seat belts. Searching eBay you can find the GM kits that replace the buttons with these and make them nice and red again.... just got mine will be installing soon.

It's been a while since I updated this thread! Over the last year, I've taken the Camaro to a number of car shows, cruise ins, events, and had a lot of fun with her! Here are a couple pics:

Re: Bud's 86 IROC Z Build

Eventually, fall rolled around and we had an issue...the TPI's intake gasket started leaking coolant out the front, so she was parked prematurely in October. Due to me getting a new job and complications with taking the intake apart, the repair took a long time to finish, but in March, it was all done and the Camaro is back for 2019!

As far as plans for this year go, it's more of the same! Lots of car shows and cruise ins planned in the central IL area, as well as going to Super Chevy again, and going to Third Gen Fest, Third Gen Expo, and more! The only changes to the car planned are to continue some interior restoration (including a restored YE2 Delco radio) and some paint touchups.

I will likely be better at updating this thread and being more active moving forward since I've gotten settled with my job and everything! Feel free to follow me on Instagram if you have it, @buds86irocz, and on YouTube at 'Curtis Kessler', where I occasionally post videos of the Camaro!

It's been a while! Last year was a lot of fun! Car shows and long cruises were once again the big thing! The Camaro even won a couple awards last year! Here are a couple pics:

Now in 2020, after a 4 month hibernation, she made a brief return, and with the original IROC wheels freshly refinished!!

Your car is just beautiful! I am partial to the blue ones. I am originally from Bloomington, IL. My parents, brother, and sister, still live up there so I visit the area from time to time.

Awesome! It's a great area with a lot of cool towns around and all the Route 66 culture. You still have your Camaro? You should bring it up here sometime!

Thanks! I actually had Denny at Thirdgen Ranch do them, as he's located not far from me. He did a nice job!

2023 Update
Still have the car! Still love it! Since I last posted 3 years ago, she's had some paint work, some mechanical work (including a fuel pump replacement done the RIGHT WAY), and she's crossed the 100k mile mark! Last year she got a new, younger sibling to join her in the garage, a 2015 SS/RS convertible!
