Pics of Formula 350
Hello Everyone,
I am new to the site. In my 20's when these cars were new I couldn't afford them but now that everyone is out of the house, I found one at a local dealer. Immaculate with 70K miles. Drives like new. Glad I found this board since when things break I can ask the "expert". No plans to modify, etc.
Just want to keep it original and it is plenty fast for me the way it is.

very nice find! i can't wait to ge mine all nice and fixed up like that!!!
i can suggest 2 things right off the bat for you that are no big deal but will be nice small things to do.
1) get the wing painted red to match the body. AFAIK all formulas came with the wing painted to match the body. if your wing is hard fiberglass then it was a replacement for the CRAP soft wings that came on the (like mine) and the previous owners never painted the replacement.
2) put a darker stripe to split up the red and gray colors.. it will make it flow much better (mine for example)
the pic is kinda crappy but you can see how the dark pinstripe works on the car (much better than the crap orange and black that came stock IMHO)

beautifull formula!!!!! keep it stock?? you will change youre mind by mid summer.. shorty's and a hooker cat back, will make it much more enjoyable. just my opinion.
Re: Pics of Formula 350
Actually the spoiler was replaced and when it was done I chose to have it painted flat black as opposed to the color of the car. IMO, it just looks sharper with the red / black combo as opposed to all red. I know that makes it not 100% original, but thats ok.

wait till next summer, you'll want more power, better stereo and nicer looks....you just got an f-body, pretty soon you'll get bit and you'll be addicted and let moddings begging!!!!
Re: Pics of Formula 350
The spoiler looks like it came off of a 85 TA when they didn't paint them, they just left them black rubber. I think that was the only year they did that. Nice looking Formy.

Very clean looking car!! You did a good job of finding an excellent example of nice Formula! I agree that you will likely get bit by the modding bug.....I did!!
Re: Pics of Formula 350
Thanks Everyone...I have attached a better pic of the spoiler. I do like the way it looks.
yes I got very lucky...I looked for a clean example for years and just could not find one that was right. I think I got a pretty good deal (from a dealership). With an entirely new exhaust system (2 cats / 1 muffler / pipes), new PA inspection / emission stickers and car price was $5400 total. Has a few goofy things like the PS hose leaks a bit (easy swap) and new serpentine belt (easily changed already). I feel like I am back in 1989 driving around!

Awesome find!! Very nice car you have there. Keep it stock!! I would love to own a mint, stock, thirdgen like you have there. Actually I did, but then I let the mod gods talk me out of it! LOL!
Keep it stock and beautiful man.

Re: Pics of Formula 350
I'd definitely paint the spoiler if it were mine ... But you are doing things the way you like them, something I completely respect. Great price on a ride that nice. You said you were in your 20's when they came out - I wasn't even a teenager yet. But I know there's older guys than us around here!!

very nice looking car.
even if you dont think you want to make it faster, i do strongly suggest subframe connectors and a steering brace.
welcome aboard!

Re: Pics of Formula 350
Sweet ride. I was never a fan of the Formulas, then I bought one and loved them since.
Re: Pics of Formula 350
Nice car, love the spoiler, goes good with the black bumper up front. I know where you are comming from. In the 80's I was trying to support family on Air Force pay and never dreamed of owning one of these. I have an 07 and 06 in driveway and still jump in the Firebird.
Re: Pics of Formula 350
hey rideon1200...sounds like the same life. I remember being in my early 20's and seeing them race downtown. Too many responsibilities to get one at the time but now I can afford it. I have driven alot of cars in my time but nothing is ever like a thirdgen. Not sure why but I just feel good when I am in one...

Welcome form350,
Congrats on a great find. Keep the fluids changed and it'll last you quite some time. Nothing like a formula 350 to top a driveway off!!
Have fun with your new toy!
