Decals!
When I bought my Formula it had no decals. A little too much white. Ordered the package from Phoenix Graphics. Looks way better now IMO, totally make the car.

You've got to be the first guy I've seen on this forum who likes the Salad Shooter lookin' rims over the GTA rims.

Re: Decals!
I like the "salad shooters" over the GTA's also. But not the style he got, I like the 88-92style better.
Good choice, ditch those GTAs. Did you just get those "turbo" style wheels refinished? They look brand new. The decals do look better, too much white without it.

Re: Decals!
thanks guys--yes I know the rims I chose will lose a popularity contest---but I cannot stand the GTA rims any more.
Never thought of them as salad shooter rims though! ---those are the 93-96 Camaro Z28 rims! lol
Yeah I just had them refinished and have some NOS center caps too.

Re: Decals!
people keep tellin me to change my wheels too. but i like em and the only way ill change em is if it's a set of drag wheels or a set of c5 zo6 wheels.

ps- ill keep mine without the decals. maybe just the bird behind the side windows.

Re: Decals!
I think they are spoken for...plus the shipping would not be nice for you.
----------
I had a professional (comericial) graphics shop put them on. They do big stuff, they can handle the little things. No way I was gonna do that...I'd just mess it up!

Re: Decals!
nope. I managed to find a real nice member on here who sent me large pics of the decal placements. Then I printed them and gave to installer.

Got my new rims on today!!
The wheels were refinished and a set of NOS centre caps were found (don't ask how much)
Tires are Firestone Firehawk Wide Ovals.
I love it! GTA wheels are "me too"--too popular and they just didn't suit my tastes

Real sharp!
And here I am feeling like a dork. I changed out my GTA wheels for some Ronals. Couldn't handle the wobble.

Re: Decals!
its easy to install stickers. I have done it b4 a few years ago when I had car repainted and have to do it again tomorrow because i just had drivers door resprayed. The way I was told to do it that works will is to get a spray bottle like a windex bottle and fill with water and afew drops of dish washing soap. Wet door down in the area sticker is to be placed. Apply sticker and u can adjust it while water/soap is under sticker. When u have it in the right place just work the water out with a cloth towel.

Re: Decals!
I've worked at commercial shops for about 6 years doing installs, until I went solo.
Best way to do those is, wash the car VERY good. Get it positioned where you want it, then us masking tape at one end, or the top, then apply it starting at the hinge, then working it, preventing bubbles from ever forming.
If you hinge it at the top (I would suggest that), once it is hinged, cut it in the middle, between 2 letters, then work it down one side at a time.
My guess is EVERYBODY here has seen the GOODWILL trailers, with the offset GOODWILL letters on the sides, the car outline on the back with some text. Well, we did like 50 of then, being brought in 2 or 3 at a time, over a couple of months. I did 90% of them.
Occasionally I was out doing on-site installs, and somebody in the shop has to do part of it, while I was out. Not the older blue striped one, but the, IIRC, the revers cut purpl & green letter outlines.
But, do the hinge method, with the soapy water mix. Add the soap SPARINGLY, like 2 drops to a spray bottle of water, otherwise the decal won't want to stick, and transfer tape will peel the decal off, and you'll hafta break out the hair dryer or leave the transfer tape on there for a day or so, depending on the outside temp, before you can peel the tape off.

Re: Decals!
Well Mikey I think you found that "look" you were talking about. I forgot how nice a clean refinished set of rims can be. They suit the demeanor of the car. It looks very nice and stockish until you lift the hood up
