So... long time and no update. I finally got the car running in early June. It had some teething issues early on, but I think a lot the issues were due to it sitting for so long. I managed to get everything sorted out by mid-summer and I've put about 3,500 miles on the new engine since finishing it. Man, this thing pulls like nothing I've ever driven. I'm more than happy with what I've put together, particularly since this was my first build.
Here it is all put back together
Freshly cleaned and outside of the garage for the first time since 2012. You wouldn't believe how filthy it was after sitting for so long.
Thanks guys! I still drive it year round as long as the weather's not nasty. It's just too much fun to drive to put it away for the winter, so I'll take it out for a spin here and there during the winter as long as there's no snow, slush, or salt on the roads.

Besides the driver quarter and the rear spoiler, it's still wearing the original paint.
Haven't updated this in a while... so back in October, I bought a set of Hawk's 17x9 GTA wheels. Here they are mounted, so far I'm very pleased with how they look and fit. It's a really subtle change, but that's been the goal I had for this car from the get go.
The new wheels and tires makes the car look SOOOOO much better! I have a set on my '91 GTA, too. When I see other GTAs with the stock size wheels and tires, those tires look so bubbly to me, even more so now and the thought of ever having to go back to 16 inch wheels makes my stomach quiver. LOL! I've seriously been debating on whether I should buy 2 spare wheels, JUST in case something were to happen to the ones I currently have. It would suck SO bad not being able to find a replacement wheel 10 years from now if the need were to arise.
Been a long time since I last posted on TGO. The car is still alive and well, and this past year I got hooked on autocross. I run it in the SCCA CAM (classic American muscle) class. It's not a super competetive class, more of a fun, hang out with your buddies kinda class. The car isn't half bad on the track, although I think its a tad overpowered and under-tired. I'll probably get some stickier rubber for it next season. Here are a handful of shots from this past season.
