STS +

I've never really liked the big black gap between the reds of my stock tail lights.

I never need my Reverse lights so...

I used the same thing the Camaro guys use to convert their amber turns to red. I sprayed my clear Reverse lenses with translucent red, to create 4 red sections per side.

So no...I no longer has ANY Reverse lights at all.

Here is my Hazard lights on.....

Re: STS +

How do you not "need" your reverse lights? Isn't it more of an issue with the law?

Re: STS +

Texas Inspection law doesn't require them.

Think about it...WHY would Reverse lights be required anyways?

So people are aware that you are backing up. Ever try backing out of a parking space with a pickup truck parked next to you?? You can't see anything until you get past that truck bed. By then you've pulled out so far that if the oncomming car wasn't paying attention they'd run right into you. But if they are paying attention, at least they know to stop and let you out first.
That's cool though, at least you have fully lit tails in one color now. No spaces.

Re: STS +

I've thought of doing rectangular ones in the center piece, like the 4th gen round Reverse lights, or......

Just playing with positioning of them....

Re: STS +

I toyed around with it a little bit and after thinking of the 4th gen round lights I thought about this but I don't know if you could make it work for you

Re: STS +

If you notice the blank square in my complication of idea pics.....My initial idea was the round ones from a 4th gen. But were dismissed & deleted. Round lights on our square/sharp line bodies, just didn't work for me at all.

Re: STS +

If you do decide to place them into the back bumper, I think the one on the very right looks best. Down low looks better than in the middle of the bumper.

I edited the pic with #s.

You mean #6? I was leaning towards #2 or #4. Just above that line molded into the bumper cover, not below it. I didn't like the thin body below the lights, if I put them down low.

Re: STS +

#6 Would be my choice. It would seem to balance well with the front of the car.

.....Now you just need one of my "adjusted" flashers.

Re: STS +

I agree too.....But the GTAs 'bird is a separate emblem embedded in the center section, not just the printed on 'bird like all other 'birds.

Re: STS +

Yeah but...........the paint used on the emblem can be removed from the backside, and it is clear.

Retrofitting it as a Reverse light would be awesome!

If I did backlight the emblem, I'd do it in red, not as a Reverse light, that people would rarely see.

Yeah red would look better than a reverse light. Have you made your decision on which # your wanting to do? I didn't respond to your #'ed pictures but I meant #6 as FRY-CHKN said.

I'm trying to find some flush mount lights to use as Reverse lights.

Like the ones I saw on this truck bed yesterday. Flush mount.

Re: STS +

Those kind of lights for trucks and what not are made by Truck Lite or Grote. I work for a Volvo/Mack dealership and I can get a **** load of different kinds of lights. There really isn't a huge difference between Truck Lite and Grote except for some of the harnesses I think. I can look in our books tomorrow and see what kind of square ones we have in the color of reverse lights. I could probably get some LED ones too. PM me if you're interested.
