Yep, we bought a 91 Formula for him instead of the 89. In looking for parts for his 89 we came across this 91 that is in better shape than the 91 and needs very little work to be nice.

We plan on cleaning up the 89 and selling it and putting the money into the 91. The 91 needs a transmission, which we have, so we'll be doing that this weekend. Then we plan on cleaning up the interior and getting it ready for paint.

It is a 305 TBI/auto car with a bunch of miles, but runs like a top and has brand new tires and brakes on it.

The best part was we got it for $600!

PICS!

$600, you got a hell of a deal. What's up with the other 91-92' bird's gfx?

The 91-92 formulas are my favorite 3rd gen. Plan on having one, one day.

Not sure what we're going to do yet. I may leave them on and sell the car as a roller just to get it gone, it's been in our way waaaay too long.

Re: No more 89 Formy, now the build of my bro's 91 Formula!

Yeah, we stole this thing. I am going to tow it home today at lunch.

Plan is right now to yank the transmission out of the 92 and put it in the 91, put the door and fender that we just put on the 89 back on the 92 and sell the 92 as a project with a $3000 engine and a blown transmission for $1500.

Then I'm going to stick the door back on the 89, find a new fender for it cheap and stick that on there, then clean it up and put that for sale for $1500.

Then with the money we make off of the 89 (the 92 is my parents' car so they get the cash from that one) we're going to paint it in my shop, put some new seats in it, and maybe do a decent stereo and maybe brakes or something.

We'll see!

Re: No more 89 Formy, now the build of my bro's 91 Formula!

First problem with the car.

The guy told me the ignition switch hung up a little bit. I've had these cars do that before, and never had a real issues with it. I probably started the car like 10 times before I towed it home with no issues.

Until I get home and try to start the car to pull off of the dolly. The ignition hangs wide open, luckily the battery was almost dead and didn't do any damage, but now I gotta replace the ignition switch.

Looks like a great project car. Too bad it's not a TPI car but still a good deal.
