Kick-***. Looks like it was a 15th anniversary edition.

I paid $450 for my old 84 T/A too.

My favorite year, keep us updated!

She must have been a gorgeous car back in the day, I like the S/E interior better than the Trans Am. I'm thinking about painting some of the interior panels just like S/Es (lower center console, underdash panels. Or maybe wrap those panels with vinyl.

I just said that because the 15th anniv. cars had those white accent pieces.

nice find! And the price is right too. Are you Canadian? I noticed the different units on the gauges.

bradley23150 is right, those white interior pieces are from an anniversary trans am... most likely swapped into your car by a previous owner. Whatever you do, don't paint those! You can make some good money selling them to someone restoring a 15th anniversary car.

Re: 1984 firebird s/e

the panels were more of a very light tan/ sandy. I'm pretty sure they are the originals as nothing on the car was touched wiring wise except the stereo
the interior is there an rpo for 15th anniversary or plate like the one on the radiator that would tell me?

Re: 1984 firebird s/e

i was looking up paint codes for my car right now my car is a metallic brown on top then has vinyl stripes then it is sand grey on the lower part of the car.

on the rpo list it has wa-m8310 L8322 U8322. when i looked this up on paint scratch it has

8310 as silver sand gray metallic
8322 as midnight sand grey metallic

but when i looked up my vin on comp nine it has
SECONDARY,MEDIUM ROSEWOOD METALLIC (82L)
COLOR,PRIMARY,MEDIUM DARK GRAY (82U) (1976-1986)
EXTERIOR COLOR,PRIMARY,MEDIUM ROSEWOOD METALLIC (82U)(1987-1989)

My question is what colour was my car originally? the upper brown and lower grey or just all grey? im so confused lol.

Re: 1984 firebird s/e

the rpo tag on the center console lid should have Y82 code but that is definitely not a 15th anniversary because all 15ths were white with leather recaro seats, i know i recently purchased one im restoring, good luck to yours

Sorry but they're definitely not from a 15th Anniversary, the dash pocket has the black bird with "Firebird" written in black. A 15th would have a blue bird with "Trans Am" on the left. Those parts are original.
The horn button on a 15th is white with a blue emblem.
S/Es had a very different interior, with much more colored parts than base 'birds and T/As : lower center console, steering wheel, door armrests, lower dash panels, shifter and E-brake handles were all color coded.

direngrey, your car was originally dark sand gray metallic with a silver sand metallic lower accent. Your car looks all original.

wow, i never saw a steering wheel wrapped in white/light gray that wasn't in a 15th anniversary car. Good call though, I never saw a dash pocket in that color that wasn't from a 15th anniversary either but now that you point it out I do see that the emblem isn't correct on it. Sorry Direngrey, honest mistake. Cool interior though!
