Re: bought another one!
ok i got 1 minor problem but after sitting 13 years im not complaining. sometimes the headlights go up normally sometimes not at all. sometimes only go part of the way but when turning off there is a grinding noise. is the headlight motor my problem or any ideas ? i havent had the chance to really look into this. and if it is the headlight motor will one from my 85 trans am work in the 88?

sounds like the gears in the headlight motor, and they should...just look at them close before you start ripping it apart

Re: bought another one!
very nice! the gringing would be the gears in the motors... pop some brass gears in and never look back! as for them doing nothing when u turn them on... could be the switch on the dash, i had an 89 formula and u really had to push the switch hard and hold it so theyd go up, i replaced the switch and that problem went away

Re: bought another one!
well ive looked into it the 85s headlights are a 3 wire plug but the 88s are a 2 wire plug and i was thinking could it be the headlight control module ? i think the switch is ok but ill check it
