Re: 89 GTA - 10k HID's Yellow Fogs..what do you think?
As far as light output, I'd say its about equal to stock (which was already pretty good compared to my other vehicles 9004's). The color of the light does make things seem more vivid though, for example, the white line at the edge of the road really stands out now.
My lights start up blue, but after about 20 seconds they warm to a really clean white light.

I wish I could say the same for mine. I went with those fake projectors with a black housing. Been giving me hell ever since. Will switch to regular chrome ones soon. But I do love the color output of my 6K's. Makes street signs as well as the white lines on the road really pop.

Did your bulbs come with the metal Casper shields? Mine did, and it appeared there was no way to install the bulbs without them. Mine are also "bi-xenon", and the bulb actually moves out when I switch on my high beams. Not sure how that makes them brighter, but it does.

Mine also came with the metal shields. I'm not sure if they help things, or make matters worse. I don't have hi beams though. Kinda regret that decesion. Maybe I'll upgrade One day. Lol

Mine doesn't rattle. You could always contact the seller and ask for a replacement. They shouldn't be rattling.

I wish it was easier to retrofit a projector into the small space we've got and still manage to keep the pop-ups.

H4 HIDs in the eBay fake projectors with black housings.

Yeah mine are just like those (but chrome). As long as the road is smooth they're fine, but when I hit little bumps I notice vibration from the one on the driver side.
I may try to tighten it up, or maybe squirt a little epoxy in there to stiffen it up.

it may be your light door bouncing or maybe the housing isnt in tight?

Just for all you t/a guys with the fake ebay headlight housings.Dont use them, they are extremely bad and not approved for hid kits. They do not spread the light pattern properly and give alot of glare from a distance to other drivers.Ive had tickets from using them and tried taking it to court and lost lol. But for what I spent on those housings I bought the proper housings for h4 bulbs. Its glass..not plastic, and has the proper cutoff lines and light spread. They look just like the originals. If you think you have good lighting now with those fake projectors..I dare you to switch back after using these lol.I dont even use my fogs anymore at all.Im using a 6000k bi-xenon kit.

I might get new Foglight housings and do an h1 hid kit aswell just to make it complete.

Maybe Ill take some pics tonight since I need to replace my passenger side ballast.I also did a small mod and mixed some cleat a few drops of black and lightly sprayed my turn signals for a nice look when the lights are off. went with led bulbs so they are just as bright when they are on.

Yes exactly. If you use an H4 hid kit..it will literally plug n play lol.If you get a bi xenon hid kit then you will retain hi and low beam functionality aswell.Plus the glass will be able to withstand the heat of a hid kit where *** those ebay fakes either melt..leak water like no tomorrow and then the bulbs blow from moisture.

Re: 89 GTA - 10k HID's Yellow Fogs..what do you think?
Hmm, I may look into getting some of those if they have a decent cut off line. I actually like that they look stock too.
Even with these cheap ebay housings, my lights are a lot less annoying than many other peoples vehicles around here. Its common to see Z71's with lift kits and 12k HID's, talk about blinding!

There is nothing I hate more than lifted trucks with HIDs! So ignorant. Lol. I like the look of those stock looking lights, and would really love a night pic of it up against a wall so we could all see the pattern of the HIDs.

Re: 89 GTA - 10k HID's Yellow Fogs..what do you think?
Yikes...lots of glare guys... I had a set of those cheapo ebay housings with the projector lense in the middle. I got them to gut and install projectors in. The glare coming off them is just...ugh. haha. I know I know...its been beaten to death.
And Im not trying to knock you guys at all... I had a hi/lo HID kit (which also sucked bad). And I had to aim them SO low that it was pointless. My fog lights were shining further than the lo beams. And high beam was a halogen..which after staring at 6000k HID light looks like a candle.
The housings that 86White_T/A305 posted look like "euro" housings. They have a specific orientation, and sometimes are side specific. I bought a pair for my Jeep Cherokee (same size bulb as the 82-90) firebirds. And I put a pair of slightly higher wattage bulbs behind them, with a home made upgrade harness.
They DO have a cut off. Its not sharp like a cut off shield...but it does a reasonable job of keeping the glare at bay. And it also kicks a little light up and to the right to illuminate the side of the road. Its important to make sure you get ones that are for driving on the right side of the road..haha.
If you want to run HID's, without a projector retrofit, and not annoy every other driver on the road...I would be trying these. I never had a set of HIDs behind mine...but Ive seen them and they arent too bad. And they put WAY more light on the road than those other housings.
I kind of dig the yellow fogs... Makes me think "rally". And Im sure its functional too since yellow does a better job cutting fog. The combo is neat.

Re: 89 GTA - 10k HID's Yellow Fogs..what do you think?
Ghetto cruiser hit the nail on the head.Concerning the euro aspect of the housings I was under the impression that the hella kit offered by summit is the non right side angle pattern and that there was a another kit specifically for euro cars of that size sealed beam conversion.Though Im curious if these are angled to the upper right hand side.Cant you just flip the housing upside down and use a non hi/lo hid kit then adjust the headlight assembly to suit?
I dont have a decent wall to show the even spread these put out.And with my cheap ebay hi/lo hid kit i aimed my lenses down more just to be safe.My fogs are down aswell with my lo beam and fog lights on just overlap eachother.
My pass. side vertical adjustment screw doesnt hold its position so its hard to take night pics and to do it properly you need a flat wall and have to be parked a certain distance away.
Id love a true projector but that requires alot of attention to detail and mods that I dont want to do so this was the best alternative I could find. And I rarely drive the car at night for the effort lol.

If you're willing to spend the money, you can buy a real HID setup that's designed for the '93 - '97 Firebirds. They should drop right in since '91 - '92 Firebird headlights are the same as '93 - '97.
