83 trans am top end motor rebuild tread

Today my dad and me took apart my 83 crossfire motor to replace the cam and timing chain,push rods and lifters and all new gaskets too. I Got this kit from summit CCA-RP1412-16 ,
CCA-K12-242-2

pulled the lifters out and started to clean everything up this stuff works great at removing dirt

update me and my Dad pulled the cam out today and it almost looks like someone did a rebuild before. here are some pictures

Update We pulled the heads and manfolds off today Now the heads go to Standard Machine to be cleaned and redone,now its just cleaning everything up so it will be really Clean and ready to go back on the car

Up Date got gasket set and got Extreme Pressure Engine Assembly Lube for cam bearings and used comp cams lube on the lifers and there both good lube. forgot to take pictures when we put the cam in put here one picture of timing chain on

Update sill waiting on the heads from the shop in the mean time We are porting the intake manfold to flow better from left to right new vs old

ported all the ports in the manfold and took it to the sand blasters It really turned out nice

Size:  105.4 KBPicked up The Heads Today from Standard Machine they did A really great job was $580 for them to rework the heads with 1.940 Intake Valves and 1.600 Exhaust Valves. Just need Head gaskets and intake Gasket and motor oil,oil filter and will post up break in video and I will need to take it to get tuned at a shop

Today Me and my Dad put the heads on with fel-pro gaskets and one bolt to hold it on till we get the Arp head bolts. Once its all together where gonna take it to Extreme Performance Here in Arizona to have it DynoJet and do some tuning and maybe have a chip made for it if we need it. I cant wait to have it on the road again but not gonna rush it and where gonna do it the right way.

Update My Dad and me put the head bolts in And Torque them down and We put the push rods and rockers on and set the reload and We put the Intake manfold on. Almost to the fun part of firing up the car.

We at first where just gonna do the Valve seals so thats why the motor is in the car but then I was looking at cams on summit and new timing gear. update painted the manfolds with vht paint and painted the water pump. hope to have it done soon,

Update

Put the manfold and water pump on and now just need to hook up the vac lines and get a gasket for the top part of the manfold.

update we put the base of the manfold on and put in new spark pluges where getting close to being done

Where About 95% Done with hooking everything up, Just need to remember to put oil in the Engine and new spark plug wires on and some Vaccum lines and its gonna be alive again, Next Up Up Date ill post video of the car running and driving down the road. I can,t wait.
