I had a picture in my head of what I want my (now dark green) car to look like, then I stumbled upon yours....THAT'S IT! I LOVE your look.

Thanks!
Thank you, Big Ted!

The color is called Dark Shadow Gray(or is it Grey?) Metallic. It is a Ford color used on several models from the early 2000s. My car was originally Gunmetal Metallic but like you, I wanted something a bit darker.

This isn't the actual color that I wanted. The color I wanted is called Dark Shadow Gray, however, it seems they also had a Dark Shadow Gray Metallic which is what I ended up with. The difference I believe is that the metallic gave it a brown hue. The car I saw certainly didn't have the brown hue to it in the sun or shade as I studied it for some time. I could be wrong though. Worked out okay.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was never a fan of the medium green metallic and I hate the tan interior in my car. I've been looking at options to make it black or dark, dark, gray. Where did you get your hood? I know a lot of people are not a fan, but I am. I saw one like it on Hawks and you can make it ramair functional. I am interested in that. I also love the black wheels on the gray. Looks so awesome.
Thanks for the inspiration!

The hood I purchased in 2005. I doubt this one is made anymore and the only place I know of to purchase it is from Hawks. There may be other places.
I picked up my inspiration from a VW Beetle on a used car lot.

I really like the Medium Green Metallic with tan interior. That color really pops in the sun. Keep me updated on your progress and what you end up doing.

Another thing I did was have the Bird emblems painted on the car in solid black. Turned out great IMO.

Re: 1991 Firebird

yeah, I'm just over the green/tan. Hawks has a hood very close to yours (no pins). http://www.hawksmotorsports.com/hood...le-fiberglass/

I love the black accents on yours. I have a vinyl die-cutting machine. I can make my own decals (24"x24" or less)

I'll keep you posted, thanks again for the input and responses!

Neither have I. Thanks, Maks!!!! I don't remember the last time we messaged here. Haha. I can't wait till it's on the road. Last night it ran for about 30minutes and regulated temps. I still need to wire the switch for the fan and get the mechanical pump to suck from the tank rather than a 5gal can. I was able to get the 305/40/18 NT555Rs to fit without rubbing. I also have 315/30/18 R888Rs which I'm also going to test fit. Will post pictures of both when I have it on the road.

Re: 1991 Firebird

This is the newest photo I have of the car. Still have a bit of the interior to reassemble but the car does run and is driveable! Went from a v6/auto to carb'd v8/5sp. Will be posting more updates as I find time to work on it. Still need to cleanup the wiring and detail the engine bay. Also need to massage the inner fender wells just a bit more to fit the larger tires. I purchased a new lower shift boot and need to install that so I don't smell like exhaust every time I drive it(open headers still.) Exhaust still needs to be installed. I bought new adjusters for the tie rods. The old one on the driver side doesn't tighten down anymore and needs to be replaced. Will have those done before I drive it again. More updates to come.

At the time of this photo I was still swapping the motor. I removed the gfx to prevent it from being damaged. I actually have 2 spare factory sets and 2 "hawks" sets. I can tell you, the "hawks" sets are garbage compared to OE. However, they are good for putting in place for cars that are regularly driven and would be okay if it were broken when on the road.
