Just an update from Norway, Europe.
Drove up in the Mountains today, to Our cabin.
Nice Winter conditions, without salt or gravel.
-15 Celsius (5 Farenheit).
It can be done, With studded tires
Before i start the car during wintertime, i always use the Block heater, and cupè oven.

Re: Winter pictures
Awesome pictures. Around here the salt destroys the cars. Then you have to spend hours cutting and welding new metal.
BTW 1F or -18C here right now and looks about the same.

Re: Winter pictures
Do you use salt on the roads at all there?
Always cool to see Firebirds in other countries, not my first choice for a snow car, though.

Re: Winter pictures
Yup. On some of the main roads salt is used.
I just take the trans am out a few times during winter, and then I stay on the back roads, far away from salt.

Re: Winter pictures
Cool Pics! Cool Car! Norway looks beautiful! It's great that you have access to back roads to run your car during the winter months. My TA's don't leave the driveway during the winter months due to the road salt. The DOT drives through every day about 10AM and sprays liquid salt all over the road. That crap will eat up a car in a few short years. We keep a AWD winter beater to sacrifice to the salt Gods. When the winter vehicle gets too rusty, I find a low mileage 6 to 8 year-old replacement, and start the process all over again. There is a service gas station about two miles from the house that sells ethanol free fuel. I bring in 5 gallons at a time, and split it between the two cars, to keep the fuel fresh. I start the cars ever three to four days and drive them around our property. Than they go back in the garage. The cars usually see some highway use from April to October. We have been seeing 20 F daytime temps and 0 F to -5 F at nights. It's supposed to get up to 46 F on Sunday, so everything will thaw out some. Keep the pics coming.
